This furore over Luis Suarez Suarez 'non-handshake' with that Evra fella has gone out of control
and is totally out of proportion for what has occurred.
True, Suarez is guilty of going back on his promise to shake that man Evra's hand and he did make a
mistake there after previously promising to Liverpool that he would do so.
Goals:Rooney 47' 50'
Suarez 80'
The worst possible result. Not just a loss, a deserved loss – self-inflicted thanks to a feeble
30 minutes after the restart – but continued, probably increased, focus on the Suarez-Evra
contretemps thanks to each acting like spoiled children.
It will be a hostile atmosphere when United take on arch rivals Liverpool this weekend, and Sir
Alex's side are slightly odds-on at 1.91 with Paddy Power to come out on top in what promises to be
a real hard fought battle.
The game sees Patrice Evra come face to face with Luis Suarez for the first time since the
Liverpool striker was banned for eight games after racially abusing the United defender and the
role of referee Phil Dowd will be crucial.

Liverpool set up a Carling Cup final against Cardiff after playing out a thrilling 2-2 draw with
Manchester City at Anfield to advance 3-2 on aggregate.
Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, City quickly drew level on aggregate thanks to a superb long-range
strike from defensive midfielder Nigel de Jong that flew into the top corner.
Roberto Mancini was left to bemoan a couple of refereeing calls that went against Manchester City
after seeing Liverpool go through to the Carling Cup final.
Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, City had a lot of work to do at Anfield and opened the scoring
thanks to Nigel de Jong's stunning strike from distance.

Here are the most interesting and important points from the 115 page document which explains why
the decision was made to charge Luis Suarez with racially abusing Patrice Evra.
Evidence
- The FA and Evra watched some video footage of the match. Evra pointed out to the FA, by reference
to the video footage, when it was during the match that Suarez made the comments about which Evra
had complained.

For a quarter of an hour on Boxing Day, it seemed like Sir Alex Ferguson had taken the term
'Christmas surprise' too literally. By the time that we eventually figured United were playing with
9 men + Evans + Gibson, Evra had already skipped around a static Wigan defence for Park to score
his first goal in the Premier League since those days when he only scored against Arsenal,
Liverpool, Chelsea etc.

Dimitar Berbatov delivered a late Christmas present to United fans, scoring three in a 5-0

furious with referee Phil Dowd, whose decision to [.

There has been some bad news today, not only is Andre Santos out for around three months as he
requires surgery for his ankle injury, but it has been announced that the fat blind walrus who also
goes by the name of Phil Dowd is to officiate our game away to Manchester City this weekend. The
above video sums up how many of us felt as Dowd threw our game away to Newcastle last season.

You'll be glad to know that moments after this grotesque belly-flop, Seb Larsson conspired to
miss the penalty he successfully conned out of referee Phil Dowd in woeful fashion, after which
Wolves toddled up the other end and equalised within 25 seconds (skip to the 7:00 mark).

A diligent, comprehensive win sealed with two strikes within five minutes around the hour mark.
After briefly basking in the afterglow of yet another away win and yet another victory over
Chelsea, the result seems somewhat overshadowed by Lucas's frightening knee injury – the last
thing the team needed from this poorly-scheduled fixture.

André Villas-Boas's attempt to integrate youthful dynamism into his faltering team fails
because of the visitors' superior knowhow After he had checked that his ankle was still affixed to
his leg and the lengthy treatment had finished, Jordan Henderson had one question for the assorted

Rio Ferdinand put in a brilliant challenge on Ben Arfa in the box only for the linesman John
Flynn to flag for a penalty. Mike Jones, who was filling in for Phil Dowd, had initially rightly
indicated that a corner should be awarded, before a discussion with Flynn saw him award a penalty,
denying United the three points.

That's our sixth consecutive Premier League win and unbeaten in the last 8 games. The win
against Norwich puts us up to 6th position in the table, level on points with both Chelsea and
Tottenham, albeit both have games in hand over us. On another day, this could've been a tennis
score but it wasn't and ultimately a win was all that matters as we kept our good form going.

Aston Villa 1-2 West Bromwich Albion Premier League 22 October 2011
They may have benefited from an extremely harsh red card given to Villa's Chris Herd for a
rather innocuous-looking tangle with Martin Olsson, but West Brom fully deserved their victory
against their local rivals.
You might not have been alive that last time West Brom left Villa Park with three points: it was
May 11th 1979. In fairness, we've only played in the same league 12 seasons since then, which
reduces the chances of losing somewhat, but then we also didn't have to endure Phil Dowd
refereeing.

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has spoken publically for the first time to deny claims he racially
abused Manchester United defender Patrice Evra at Anfield on Saturday.
During Saturday's 1-1 draw at Anfield, the players were involved in a lengthy dispute and Evra was
booked by referee Andre Marriner.
Liverpool FC was making hard work of the Merseyside derby – and then Kenny Dalglish introduced
the substitutes. We did not look like we were going to break Everton down and we missed a great
opportunity when Dirk Kuyt's penalty was saved by Tim Howard at the end of the first half. With 10
men, Everton just sat back and we were struggling but it was game long marred by the wrongful
decision to send off Jack Rodwell.
