Eli Manning's star has never shined brighter as he leads his New York Giants into their 2nd Super
Bowl in the past 4 years.
As accomplished and appreciated as Manning is now, he was not always held in that regard. Playing
professional sports in the largest fishbowl of a media market like New York is not easy, as there
are very high expectations to manage and distractions to avoid.
Peyton Manning wants to keep playing football. Even though he has a neck injury that has
required three surgeries, there's no quit in the quarterbacking legend. While the talk regarding
whether or not he'll play for the Indianapolis Colts will continue, one thing is for certain: he'll
play somewhere.
It's only a matter of time that the Indianapolis Colts let Peyton Manning walk. Since they have
the No. 1 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft and will select Andrew Luck, the Colts will let go of Manning
and go in a different direction.
With that in mind, where will Manning end up? Well, first of all, since he's dealing with a neck
injury, there's a chance he will retire.
Jim Irsay, the owner of the Indianapolis Colts, is getting ready to kick Peyton Manning to the
curb. It's obvious to anyone who has been paying attention. And while I don't have a problem with
that, I do have a problem with the way Irsay is handling it.
Instead of giving Manning and heart-felt send off, Irsay is instead running Manning's name
through the mud.
Usually, it's a good idea to have the quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts on your fantasy
football squad. However, when that quarterback is Curtis Painter, that assumption isn't so
clear.
What should we expect from Curtis Painter in fantasy football for Week 4?
Not much.
Curtis Painter entered the season as the Colts' third-string quarterback behind Peyton Manning
and Kerry Collins.
The latest talk out of Indianapolis is that Peyton Manning could be out for the season. While
not a huge surprise considering the future Hall of Fame quarterback underwent neck surgery
recently, it was surprising to hear Colts owner Jim Irsay talk about how Manning is not expected
back this season.
It is a pretty common theme, at least in the American soccer press, that a team is only as good
as the talismanic superstar forward it may or may not have. With regards to the national team, we
have heard quite a bit about how the key to the USMNT becoming a global power is that they need a
"Lionel Messi" (a notion that is utterly preposterous, quite frankly).
For fantasy football owners around the globe, Monday was a good day. Peyton Manning, arguably
the best fantasy quarterback of the last decade, was activated by the Indianapolis Colts. Manning
was cleared to practice on a limited basis.
That said, Manning still doesn't know when he will actually play in a game.
From the makers of the original Breakfast of Champions comes the latest hot video remix
from DJ Steve Porter, the creator of the famous Allen Iverson-Steve Mora "Practice/Playoffs" Press
Hop mash-up.
The video, "Got My Own Spoons," stars Peyton Manning, Kevin Garnett, Albert Pujols, Bryan Clay
and Hunter Kemper, all of whom helped in developing the Wheaties Fuel brand, the next generation in
the cereal made by and especially for athletes.
When you think of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, you likely think of Tom Brady and Peyton
Manning. Or maybe Michael Vick, Philip Rivers or Peyton's little brother. It's time to wake up. The
best quarterback in the NFL is kissing a Super Bowl championship trophy tonight. His name is Super
Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers.
All week long, the New York Jets said they were going to beat the New England Patriots on
Sunday. And guess what? the Jets did just that. No one thought the Jets actually had a chance but
they went into New England and handed the Patriots a 28-21 defeat. To make it to the Super Bowl,
the Jets now have to go out on the road and beat the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Rex Ryan talks big. Against the Indianapolis Colts, his New York Jets were able to walk the
walk. With a 32-yard field goal as time expired, the Jets beat the Colts by a final score of 17-16.
Nick Folk's field goal answered a 50-yarder by Adam Vinatieri with less than a minute remaining.
The Jets now advance to play the New England Patriots next week.
