Got this mailshot for MP Tom Watson
Ed Miliband calls really early. Too early. These days I have to set my alarm for 6am in order to be
fully awake before he starts chasing me.
Before Ed's calls, I listen to the depressing daily news on the Today programme. Unemployment sky
rocketing, the economy flat-lining, more arrests at News International.

The owners of the five-team Women's Professional Soccer have voted to suspend the 2012 season,
citing the costs associated with the legal wranglings involving magicJack owner Dan Borislow as the
primary culprit. A formal announcement is set for Monday at 1pm ET.
In a league issued e-mail that was sent to the players on Monday morning, the owners attempted
to find a way to circumvent costs of the lawsuit, but ultimately, could not find a way.

"Jurr Curl's scurred a gurl"
Those good people over at hirsute charity Movember have started a petition to
get four 80s sporting heroes and one-time top-lip topiary aficionados namely Nigel Mansell, Barry
McGuigan, Ian Botham and Mark Lawrenson to re-grow their resplendent Mo's for charity next
month.
For over 20 years, Anne Williams has fought in vain for a new inquest into the death of her son
Kevin, who was one of 96 Liverpool football fans killed in the Hillsborough stadium disaster. Anne
believes the original inquest into Kevin's death was 'riddled with corruption', and that 'vital
evidence' was suppressed.

Why the Hillsborough files must be released under FOI
SHORTLY after the 20th anniversary of Hillsborough an independent panel was set up to work on
the release of official documents relating to the disaster. This panel continues to work through
the documentation to prepare it for release, the release to be accompanied by a report detailing
how the information "adds to the public understanding of the tragedy and its aftermath".
Why Tory Hillsborough documents must be released before Thatcher dies
I've lost count of the number of people I've heard these past 22 years ask why the Hillsborough
Families won't let it lie. Move on, you can't bring back your loved ones, so let it go, they say. I
heard it again this week after a 140,00-strong petition compelled parliament to debate whether
documents relating to Margaret Thatcher's handling of the 1989 disaster should be released
uncensored.

The Government is 'happy' for all documents relating to the Hillsborough disaster to be
released, the Cabinet Office said on Wednesday. Ministers previously failed to officially support
calls for all reports to be made public.

The response to the e-petition urging the government to release Hillsborough documents requested
in a Freedom of Information request was both overwhelming and a huge boost to all those who have
been fighting for the truth for 22 years.
When it comes to managing the football side of things, who is the most important person at Anfield?
Obviously, the answer is Kenny Dalglish, and I'm sure every fan would agree. However, according to
Liverpool's official website, Damien Commolli is (seemingly) top dog at Anfield.
I was browsing the LFC website earlier and came across the following on the 'First Team' page:
As you can see, Commolli's name comes before Dalglish's in the managerial hierarchy, which is
clearly in order of importance.

Over 22 years on, the search for the same thing remains unwaveringly since the day the tragedy
happened.

This is a sincere request to anyone reading, Liverpool fan or not. You may have read on Twitter or
seen in the news this week that the government are going to appeal against a ruling to release the
documents and minutes from the meetings with Margaret Thatcher after the Hillsborough disaster. Not
only is it despicable that they are even trying to keep these documents a secret, it is sickening
HJC praise "overwhelming support" for disclosure of Hillsborough files
AN e-petition calling for "Full disclosure of all government documents relating to 1989
Hillsborough disaster" has received much publicity in recent days and at the time of writing had
received over 77,000 signatures.
In a recent decision welcomed by all Liverpool fans, and football fans in general, the Information
Commissioner ruled that full disclosure of all documents relating to the Hillsborough disaster
would be in the public interest. This is inarguably correct, and any fair-minded individual would
surely agree.

Right, starting Friday off with the most important bit if you live in the UK and happen to have
missed the petition going around for full release of all documents pertaining to Hillsborough,
please hit the link to sign up and lend your name to the cause. Those of us outside the UK can only
support from afar and get the word out; Chris from Paisley Gates alerted us to the fact that the
Hillsborough Justice Campaign has asked that only legal UK residents take part, as names with fake
addresses will only weaken the petition.
More than twenty years on from the Hillsborough disaster and still, it seems, attempts will be made
to deny those who most need the truth the access they demand and deserve.
The BBC reports:
"The government is appealing against an order to release cabinet discussions from the aftermath of
the 1989 Hillsborough stadium disaster.

left the club whose badge he used to kiss to join Manchester City.
- Despite being given the captaincy at City, Tevez handed in a transfer request less than 18

- After repeatedly claiming he was unhappy because he was so far away from his family, City gave
him time off to visit them.
A two-way debate about re-introducing standing room at English football grounds has raged since
ever since all seater stadiums were introduced, and both sides of have strong, well developed
arguments to back them up. However, the unfortunate reality is that much of the debate is rendered
invalid by the simple maxim: money talks.

lost 3-1!
The Football Supporters' Federation has launched a petition – visit
www.fsf.org.uk/safestanding as part of our campaign for the introduction of safe standing areas in
the top two divisions in England and Wales. We know some of you might think that signing a petition
is a bit of a futile gesture, but the timing for the campaign is crucial.
Kenny Dalglish has backed the Premier League's refusal to support a Football Fans Federation bid to
reintroduce standing areas at football grounds.
The FSF launched a petition for safe standing last week.
The Federation, which represents more than 180,000 and affiliates, are presenting the petition to
Government and football authorities.
Supporters' Online Petition - SAVE LEYTON ORIENT FOOTBALL CLUB
We the undersigned urge the government and Mayor of London's office to help Save Leyton Orient
Football Club by reconsidering their endorsement of West Ham's move to the Olympic Stadium. Premier
League and Football League rules on ground moves clearly state a move should not "adversely affect
Clubs (or Football League clubs) having their registered grounds in the immediate vicinity of the
proposed location".
Truth, the way it is.
Sums it up, real nice. (courtesy @AFCArmChairBoss)
