Remember when everybody was cool with Alberto Aquilani leaving because he really didn't want to
be at Liverpool and he was soft in the tackle and the club had Raul Meireles anyhow, who at least
was already proven in the Premier League, and as long as the club kept one of them around they'd be
deeper in midfield then they had been the year before so it'd be cool?

Liverpool continue their preseason preparations with a trip to the KC Stadium, where they'll
work to get up to speed and look to gain momentum ahead of the season opener in three weeks.
With a handful of long-rumoured targets finally arriving and a bit of football to distract
everybody, the mongering of rumours has taken a bit of a back seat in recent weeks—or at least
the degree to which people have taken note of it has decreased. Still, with a few notable holes
remaining on Liverpool's squad as the weeks slip away and a new season draws near, it was
inevitable that things would begin to pick up again if given the chance.

Guangdong:
It's six weeks since the close of the 2010-11 season, and Liverpool's already set to kick off
2011-12 with a preseason visit to Guangzhou to face Guangdong Sunray Cave.
Well, that certainly was a weekend chock full of internationals. And stuff. But mostly
internationals. I liked the part where something exciting happened. No, not the Spain-USA
match—though it was wall to wall excitement if you enjoy watching small, defenseless
animals caught up in jet engines and also don't happen to be a US of American.
