After another summer of big money spending - and who believes they are anywhere near finished! - the pressure is on Manchester City boss Mark Hughes to achieve an absolute minimum of qualification for the UEFA Champions League during the 2009-10 campaign. Today's big game in the Premier League saw Chelsea and Manchester draw 1-1. In truth both Luis Filipe Scolari and Sir Alex Ferguson will be reasonably happy with the point although with Chelsea being at home, Scolari may feel a little upset.

Everton enjoyed another very good season under the stewardship of David Moyes, flirting with Champions League qualification for much of the campaign before finishing fifth. This was despite Everton allowing opponents more attempts on goal than they themselves created.
