SECAUCUS, N.J. (AP) — Goalkeeper Jon Conway, suspended late last season by the MLS for using performance-enhancing drugs, has been released by the New York Red Bulls.

You've probably heard of "The War On Drugs", the US government's equivalent of pushing a pea up a hill with one's nose which aims to eradicate illegal narcotics forever by cutting them off at source whilst telling young people that drugs are "bad, m'kay?". Football has its own equivalent, the savage sentencing of anyone caught with anything banned floating around in their bloodstream, and this summer's pin-up boy for the anti-drugs in sport movement looks like being the Sheffield United goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, who tested positive for ephedrine after last year's Championship play-off match against Preston North End.

By now you've heard the news: 2006 World Player of the Year and Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro failed a doping test in late August, testing positive for cortisone. The Italian football establishment players, coaches, officials, media came out in his defense. "The cortisone was lifesaving treatment for a bee sting!

According to the News of the World, Team England will be offered Viagra for the 2010 World Cup. Apparently, the little blue pill will help enhance Fabio Capello's squad's performance, no not that performance! The sexual performance drug is found to ease the effects of altitude, such as lung capacity.
