Faryd Mondragon has resumed his normal training routine on Wednesday for the first time since
breaking a finger on September 3. Peter Nowak said of Mondragon's status at Wednesday's press
conference , "We'll see where we are at the end of the week. We'll find out before we go to
Seattle, but I believe he will travel with us.
The Philadelphia Union and PPL will receive awards for their work in creating a 'greener'
Philadelphia. The Green Power Awards will recognize the two organizations at a luncheon, on October
6, that celebrates different groups that have helped to build up the state's growing "renewable
energy market.
All the way back on Wednesday I was at the Portland Timbers practice and had the opportunity to
interview John Spencer, David Horst and Jack Jewsbury. Unfortunately, I also had to go to work and

been moved to September 7, at 8 pm, because of Hurricane Irene.

The Philadelphia Union have traded starting left back Jordan Harvey to the Vancouver Whitecaps
for an undisclosed amount of allocation money.
Harvey, who has started almost every single game in Union history, was a member of the Union's
vaunted defensive back four. So far into 2011, the Union have given up only 16 goals, which puts
them as the second best defense in terms of goals against.
Half time of the Philadelphia Union's 3-2 win over Chivas USA featured three kids in a shoot
out, with the winner meeting with Danny Mwanga after the game.
The contestants were Nick Feldman, a 10-year-old from Cherry Hill, New Jersey representing
Cherry Hill FC, Aidan O'Rahilly, an 8-year-old from Falls Township, Pennsylvania representing Falls
Soccer Club and Krew Bouldin, a 10-year-old from Middletown, Delaware representing M.

This Week in Soccer History: 1921
This week in May 1921, The American Soccer League was born, the first major effort at creating a
professional league in the United States.
Elm Grove Soccer Club's Under-17 boys team won all three of its matches at the Jefferson Cup
last weekend in Virginia, getting three goals apiece from Nico Bartolomeo
(Pewaukee) and Sam Novak (Milton).
Bartolomeo and Joe Naughton (Milwaukee Marquette) scored in a 2-1 win over New
York's Massapequa SC on Friday, and Bartolomeo had the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over the
Pennsylvania Classics on Saturday.
Most people make serious New Year's Resolutions. The usually fall into the eat less, excercise
more, stop smoking, spend more time with family, read more, smile more, type of categories.
We didn't want to hear those from the U.S. WNT players, so we asked a few some more amusing
resolutions.
