The Madrid derby takes center stage in Spain this weekend and once again we're hearing that
Pellegrini's head is set to role if Real don't get the desired result... however before that can
happen, our amigos at Heads or Tails inform us that the league may be stopped this weekend ...

Real's humiliation brings back the faith in the game. These days I have been thinking whether
Florentino Perez is just an amateur who thought he knows football or is it mere
profit he is into.
Simply, no man would make the same mistake twice. Los Galacticos one were
tragic but this other version looks like a group of clowns.

This week included two gigantic matches in world football, the North London Derby, Arsenal against
Tottenham, and Ajax against Feyenoord. Pellegrini is a bit safer at Madrid, and Benitez is moving
up the spots in the sack race. While Inter escape to the top of Serie A, seven points above second
place Juventus, Portsmouth start getting the three points needed to start moving up the Premiership
table.

Real Madrid will be travelling to Milan on Tuesday without Cristiano Ronaldo. The current "World
Player of the Year" is still recovering from his ankle injury but will miss at least one more
Champions League match.
Real Madrid has to hope to turn around their recent run of poor form with a victory in Italy but
Milan is a side who are steadily improving.

Without Cristiano Ronaldo, the Merengues lacked creativity and an attacking spark.
Karim Benzema and Kaka both had an unmemorable outing. It was the supporting cast of Granero,
Marcelo and Raul that provided the threat and in the second half Royston Drenthe had his
moments.
Pellegrini turned defensive with Lass and Alonso creating redundancy in the holding midfielder
positions, with Alonso a bit more adventurous.

Well, 36-year-old Roberto Carlos has decided that he's leaving Fenerbahce in December and wants
to return to Real Madrid so bad that he's offering to play for them from January to June for free.
Unfortunately, this is a club where they're even willing to pay the toilet cleaners seven figure
salaries plus all the cash they can eat, so that offer might not be enough to convince the Spanish
giants to take on an aging aged star.

Two weeks into this early season and the top dogs in Spain are looking the part. Barcelona has
started their defence of their crown with two solid performances; a much brighter start than last

their mega-signing Dmytro Chigrynskiy has added some much needed stability in front of Victor

The Dutch double down. I think Robben's celebration is a pointed reminder of how Real treats its
Dutch contingent and how unsettled is its future.
The arrival of Kaka, Ronaldo, and Benzema is Real's 2.0 version of the Galacticos necessary to
wrest the Liga back from Barca and put Real back as favourites to win the CL but we can also argue
that it is a calculated move to undo the club's Dutch policy that has cost them a not insubstantial
amount of €120m over three years to ransack players from one country - Van Nistelrooy, Van Der
Vaart, Wesley Sneijder, Arjen Robben, Huntelaar, and Drenthe for very little gain.
