Albert Camus, the philosopher, author and football fanatic, was once asked that if he had to choose
between football and the theatre, which he would choose. He replied "Football, without hesitation"
And its little surprise, football has everything theatre has, and more. It has a story, but is
unwritten.

While Maradona is busy making a shamockery of the Argentinean national side, the man who
typically lurks behind Diego & Pele whether prudent or not in the discussion for the world's
greatest ever player has returned to football. Johan Cruijff, arguably the greatest ever
player/coach combination in football history, has returned to the bench Catalonia and don't you
call it Spain.

The NFL's Giants Stadium was once a famous venue of American soccer, a must-be-seen place with
packed crowds and Pele in the 1970s.
Then the New York MetroStars, later rebranded to Red Bull New York, started playing there almost
two decades later in Major League Soccer.
As the Red Bulls laid the final piece of sod today at their new, impressive Red Bull Arena in
New Jersey, some current players took the chance to express their feelings about Giants Stadium and
the support they (did not) receive there.

Harkesy's putting his money on Seattle or LA to win the whole shebang-a-bang. I'm not sure that one
of them will win it but I could definitely see one of them in the4 final; aside from last night's
hiccup I think Columbus is still doing it big and no doubt have a shot at a championship
double-dip.

Jack Bell creates a list of 10 most memorable games at Giants Stadium.
Some of the highlights.
Last summer's USA vs Mexico Gold Cup final turned out be an embarrassing 5-0 rout. David
Beckham's New York introduction in 2007 resulted in a 5-4 pulsating shootout between the Galaxy and
the Red Bulls.

Hey guys, I'm back from the dead. Due to commitments with school I haven't had time to update.
However, I'll be hard at work with a new format to the posts. That includes translating and posting
articles from Globoesporte, Futebol Uol Esporte, and of course the club's official website. I think
this would be the best way to keep others up to date on the workings of the club.

So we all know that Rio will be hosting the 2016 Olympics... but the man of the
moment has to be Felipe Andreoli, the host of CQC, a popular TV

players at the Bernabeu).

PVC, the great football researcher, proves with numbers in his blog that Luis Fabiano is better
than Ronaldo. When it comes to the national team, the Fabuloso has a better goal average than the
Corinthians forward. More than that, he is already the 15th top scorer in the history of the
national team (true that Ronaldo is the second, just behind Pele).

Parabens to Rio de Janeiro... hosts of the 2016 Olympic
Games! Let's take a short break away from futbol, shall we, and celebrate... like
the sexy pessoas did at Copacabana yesterday! Pele was in tears but they
didn't bother to fly his best friend Romario to Copenhagen to hand him a tissue
(they could've easily invited Ronaldo along too and played the 'we're a football
crazy nation' card but alas, Lula knew the importance of being modest).

Here's Pele with Brazilian President Lula at the opening ceremony of the 121st IOC session and

of the easily excitable Pele. He tries not to look at him as the legendary footballer eyes him up
while going in for a handshake with another man.

Even putting troubles related for his failures as Argentina's coach aside, Maradona really isn't
doing so great at the moment. For one, he's checked himself into a clinic in order to lose weight
(this, of course, after he's already had gastric bypass surgery). And as if that weren't
demoralizing enough, for some reason he did so in Northern Italy where the finance police eagerly
await his return like your dog waits for you to come home.

If you had a German name and researched it, you'd probably end up learning that 800 years ago a
poor pig farmer built his hut right beside a hole in the ground and so your family was subsequently
named after this hole. A Portuguese or Brazilian name on the other hand is more like a soap opera
and includes the names of your father, mother, first girlfriend, your father's mistress, your
mother's gardener etc.

needs to stop coming second.

Football is a cruel mistress. After City's 5-1 victory away to Bishop's Stortford I was really not
in the mood to watch City lose to Eastleigh 0-2 last night. Before the match it looked so easy -
Eastleigh have so far lost to Braintree, St. Albans, Thurrock and Dover. Not exactly the form of a
team you would expect to be making another playoff run.

Ok, Marta throwing a baseball at a LA Dodgers game is pretty random. They
should've included a bonus round with Mickey Mouse Beckham as he

It is quite difficult to compare the career path of Fabio Capello and Marcello Lippi. Both have
been successful coaches and both hail from the Italian peninsula. They both coached Juventus of
Turin during their glittering managerial career, yet the similarities end there.
While Capello's playing career far surpasses that of Lippi's, the gap in accolades between the
two greatly diminishes once we begin to analyze their coaching resumes.

How does one go about measuring greatness in football? I mean real, obvious, blatant greatness;
that rarest of qualities. Today "greatness" is such a woolly, over-used term that sometimes we lose
its meaning and start labeling all sorts of mundane, workaday things as "great". The evolution of
language has distilled its meaning, reduced its potency, but we still know greatness when we see
it.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo has been compared to the Argentinian legend 'El Diego'
throughout their career. Messi has been brought up as the natural heir to Maradona's throne, while
Ronaldo has always maintained the view that he is above all in the world. As far as I am concerned
these comparisions are futile and I have stated the same many times earlier.
