The counsellors are back with their "campy" Dutch accents and the campers are arriving one-by-one
at the big campsite by the lake. The weather forecast is looking a lot calmer than it was one year
ago - but anything can happen at camp. Especially if that new camp up the river, "Le Camp Impact du
Fromage", challenges us to a winner-take-all canoe race!

Now THAT'S a SuperDraft!Wow that's a lot of punnage in one title. With reason
though, as something is definitely going on behind the scenes which will help explain Toronto FC's
two First Round draft picks at the MLS SuperDraft. (Don't you just hate those non-Super Drafts? So
boring.) With their braintrust gathered in Kansas City, TFC did their best to confound those who do
mock drafts.
A month by month look back at the year that was for Toronto FC and why last season's upheaval is
finally starting to show dividends.

My list of who I think TFC should protect from (& who they might lose to) the Montreal Impact

I ask in this post season look back of the season that was for Toronto FC, what might have been if
MLSE had not wasted most of "the hundred days" between firing Mo Johnston and hiring Aron
Winter.

Some interesting observations, including tidbits of news about the club, plans for the games ahead
and a look ahead to the future discussed during the TFC Supporters Town Hall held Thursday evening

I explain why I like the trade between LA and TFC that sees TFC go younger and cheaper with the
acquisition of Kyle Davies and Elbekay Bouchiba nears his long awaited debut for TFC after a season
long injury.

The MLS Players Union has released 2011 player salaries. I take the opportunity to take both a look
at the raw numbers & the surprisingly good shape TFC finds itself in when it comes to managing the
MLS Salary Cap.

In my customary video blog, this time post game after Toronto FC's appallingly bad result in
Seattle, which saw the Reds soundly defeated 3-0, I search in vain for something positive to build
upon. Unfortunately only Stefan Frei was even remotely positive.

On Thursday I will be posting a video blog from the TFC Media day, including some exclusive video
from new TFC acquisition Nathan Sturgis. But before I get to the media day the DeRo situation has
sort of blown up on this Wednesday afternoon/evening. I was lucky enough to attend the press
conference Wednesday and the event itself, with questions asked and questions answered, was not the
only interesting thing about it.
Thoughts on the MLS Draft, Chad Barrett and Jon Conway leaving Toronto, and of course the ongoing
soap opera that is Dwayne De Rosario. Your comments are always welcome and of course always
appreciated.

Union
Justin Mapp talks about how welcome he felt when he came to the Union, what he's doing in the
off season, and the team's focus on winning in 2011. "Our fans are the best in the league. They're
loud. They're supportive. They're passionate. When we start stringing wins together, these fans are
going to be the ones who deserve it.
It's official now. MLSE and TFC held a press conference today to confirm that Aron Winter, Paul
Mariner, and Bob de Klerk will be joining Toronto FC. In a nutshell, here is what our staff will
look like for the new season:
Aron Winter Head Coach & Technical Director
Paul Mariner Director of Player Development
Bob de Klerk - First Assistant Coach
Earl Cochrane - Director of Team and Player Operations
Stu Neely Head of Academy
Nick Dasovic,
Jim Brennan, and
Danny Dichio will
all remain a part of the organization; official roles yet to be named
Basically, Winter is our main man.
Well, 3 out of 4 ain't bad!
When MLSE VP Tom Anselmi opened today's important press conference with an admission that the
club had been "going in the wrong direction" it was hard not to point the finger squarely at the
man himself. For four years under Anselmi and MLSE's direction, TFC was allowed to flounder, mostly
at the hands of Mo Johnston, and on this site as in many other places, the ownership was rightfully
criticized.
Because PSV Torontohoven just wasn't funny
Winter is upon us! So are years of "winter" puns! Yes, the news travelled quickly across the
Atlantic yesterday that Dutch legend Aron Winter was on the verge of joining Toronto FC. In what
capacity we are yet to know for certain - at the time of writing it could be Technical Director,
Head Coach, GM, starting midfielder or head groundskeeper.
Aron Winter. Get used to hearing that name. By all reports out of Toronto and Amsterdam this
gentleman, currently an Assistant Coach with famous Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam, is about to be
appointed Technical Director of Toronto FC. There will be a presser later this week sources tell me
when he, along with Paul Mariner and Ajax youth academy coach Bob de Klerk, will be announces as
the new Triumvirate in charge.
We talked last week about Toronto FC going after former New England Revolution assistant Paul
Mariner, well it looks like he may not be the head coach after all, instead he will be the new
technical director of the club. Now reports are saying Toronto FC will hire former Dutch midfielder
Aron Winter as their new head coach.
Winter in Toronto has never seemed so good
Mainstream media reports are flying out of The Netherlands this morning
that former Dutch International star and ex-Lazio, Inter and Ajax legend Aron Winter has been named
as Technical Director of Toronto FC. There is yet to be any official announcement from the club
itself but Winter has been quoted extensively including the following excerpts (poorly translated
into English) in the major Dutch news paper De Telegraaf:
Aron Winter in Canada today to Toronto FC to sign a three year contract as technical
director.
