In one of the biggest upsets in recent memory, the Los Angeles Lakers are now down 0-3 against the Dallas Mavericks after the Mavs won Game 3 by a final score of 98-92. Going into this series, nobody thought the Mavs had a chance. Dallas has a playoff history of choking, while these Lakers have shown their clutchness on their way to winning the last two NBA championships.

Nobody is giving the Dallas Mavericks much of a chance in their second round matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers, winners of the last two NBA championships. However, on Monday night, the Mavs proved they are ready for this stage with a come from behind 96-94 victory over the reigning champs.

With the Lakers up by five points with three minutes remaining, Tyson Chandler, Shawn Marion and Dirk Nowitzki all scored two-pointers to close the game to one-point.

In the first quarter of Game 5, the New Orleans Hornets appeared to be on their way to a stunning upset of the two-time reigning NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers. However, things quickly changed in the second quarter and the Lakers grabbed control. By the end of the game, Los Angeles had an easy 106-90 victory over the Hornets.

Prior to Game 5 between the Los Angeles Lakers and the New Orleans Hornets, Kobe Bryant said his foot was injured. I guess not. Check out the video below to see one of the best dunks you will ever see out of Kobe Bryant. Emeka Okafor was the Hornets player getting posterized. The dunk, as you could imagine, got Kobe Bryant going and the Lakers fans in an uproar.

Just a few hours after the top-seeded San Antonio Spurs were defeated by the eighth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies, another upset was in the works. This time, it was the New Orlean Hornets, taking down the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center.

Chris Paul scored 33 points, dished 14 assists and pulled down seven rebounds as Hornets shocked the home team with a 109-100 victory on Sunday afternoon.

The San Antonio Spurs smashed the Miami Heat by 30 points on Friday night. On Sunday night, the Spurs were the ones getting smashed. After leading by as many as 32 points, the Lakers snapped San Antonio's 22-game home winning streak with a 99-83 victory.

The final score doesn't tell the story of how much the Lakers killed the Spurs.

The West lead early in the 2011 NBA All-Star Game. Despite a late run by the East, the West was able to take home a 148-143 victory. The West was led by Kobe Bryant's game-high 37 points and game-high 14 rebounds. For his efforts, Kobe Bryant was the MVP of this year's affair.

Kobe Bryant got help from young stud Kevin Durant, who poured in 34 points on 23 shot attempts.

The Cleveland Cavaliers recently set the all-time NBA record by losing 26 straight games. On Wednesday, the Cavs went from the lowest of the low to feeling pretty good about themselves. In a stunning turn of events, the Cavs beat the Los Angeles Lakers in Cleveland by a final score of 104-99.

How could this happen?

The San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Lakers battled to the final buzzer. That's when Antonio McDyess tipped in a Tim Duncan miss to down the Lakers. McDyess' tip gave the Spurs an 89-88 win and improved San Antonio's record to 41-8 the best mark in the NBA. The Lakers dropped to 34-16, which has Los Angeles as the third seed in the Western Conference.

The reserves were named for the 2011 NBA All-Star Game. The starters for both the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference were named last Thursday. There is one spot still open in the Western Conference, however. Since Yao Ming is injured yet was still voted in as a starter, NBA commissioner David Stern will have to name a replacement player for the West.

The Boston Celtics lost Game 7 last year in Los Angeles as the Lakers won their second straight NBA championship. On Sunday, the Celtics got their revenge. After outscoring the Lakers 59-42 in the second half, the Celtics posted a 109-96 victory despite Kobe Bryant pouring in 41 points in 38 minutes.
