What an excellent day of football we all had yesterday, starting with the controversial
Manchester United, Liverpool match at Old Trafford , and a result that went our way with Liverpool
losing 2-1.
I am not so sure about all the Suarez, Evra hype though as it is obvious that there is bad blood
between the two of them, but to the credit of Evra he was willing to shake Suarez's hand before the
match, but Suarez refused.
Liverpool's management had seen and heard enough. Kenny Dalglish's head in the sand post match
interview coming on the heels of Luis Suarez's dastardly snub of Patrice Evra's handshake were
considered damaging enough for their MD, Ian Ayre, to come out condemning their striker.
In particular, Suarez's promise to shake hands with Evra made earlier in the week and then
reneging caused much anger.
Luis Suarez has issued an apology after refusing to shake Patrice Evra's hand during Liverpool's
2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford. Suarez was roundly criticized for refusing to
shake the hand of Manchester United defender Patrice Evra during Saturday's match after both sides
had agreed before hand that they would do so.
This match was always going to be focused on the saga between Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra and
unfortunately things didn't get off to a very good start in a game which saw Liverpool lose
2-1.
Luis Suarez decided not to shake Patrice Evra's hand to which Evra reacted physically to by
attempting to pull Suarez's hand away from De Gea's.

Liverpool might end up in fourth position and wrap up a League Cup, perhaps even an FA Cup
trophy too. At the season's end, however, the most poignant event, the most significant, will still
be the Luis Suarez debacle. This club, Liverpool, of the John Barnes era, which stood up against
continued racism (during the days when bananas were thrown at the England winger, and star
Liverpool player, John Barnes from the terraces) has now sided with a player found guilty of racist
incitement by a tribunal.
Luis Suarez decided to snub Patrice Evra's handshake ahead of today's 2-1 victory over
Liverpool. Given that Suarez was the guilty party, having been banned for eight games for racially
abusing Evra, it is incredible that he opted to disrespect our captain again today.
However, this could have been predicted when you consider Suarez revealed this week that Evra
was wrong to report the racial abuse he received.

A big sigh of relief at the end of the game but why did we have to sigh at the end when it was so
comfortable for so long in the match? It was because once Manchester United took a 2 goal
lead,...

Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed that after refusing to shake Patrice Evra's hand ahead of
kick-off, Luis Suarez should not be allowed to play for Liverpool again.
"I could not believe it, I just could not believe it," Ferguson said. "He's a
disgrace to Liverpool Football Club, that certain player should not be allowed to play for
Liverpool again.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson didn't mince his words over Luis Suarez's refusal to shake
hands with Patrice Evra. The Scot said that Suarez should never play for the Liverpool again.

With all the build up revolving around Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra, this afternoon's early
kick-off between Manchester United and Liverpool lived up to the pre-match hype. Arguably the
spiciest fixture in the Premier League calendar, it was given even more zest before a ball had even
been kicked, when Liverpool's Luis Suarez refused to shake Patrice Evra's extended hand.

United 2: Rooney 47′ 49′Liverpool 1: Suarez 80′
United get a deserved victory on the strength of a Wayne Rooney brace, taking advantage of a
lifeless performance in the second half from a Liverpool side that were wholly disappointing. Given
the occasion and atmosphere you'd have expected Liverpool to at least show up, but on the day they
lacked any sense of urgency, purpose or desire.
Rio Ferdinand refused to shake Luis Suarez's hand today after seeing that the Uruguayan snubbed
Patrice Evra's offer to shake his hand. Despite being found guilty of racially abusing Evra, our
captain was the bigger man in agreeing to shake his hand, but bizarrely, Suarez chose not to.
"Bad decision making from their guy," Rio told MUTV.

I have always thought that one (of the many) reasons that I did not become a footballer was because
I am too intelligent. In fact, as has often been the case, with some notable exceptions (Jorge
Valdano, Socrates, Ruud Gullit....), intelligent footballers seems to be more the exception that
the rule, and at a time when the media scrutiny is so intense, the demand on a bit of brains in

So, it was Luis Suarez who refused Patrice Evra's offer of a handshake at Old
Trafford earlier this afternoon...

szólj hozzá: Man Utd v Liverpool 2:1 GOALS
The scoreline does not reflect how good Man Utd were or the dire Liverpool performance
especially in the second half. That was on the pitch as the rest of the world tuned into the Luis
Suarez vs Patrice Evra telenovela.
The Manchester side came to play football while the Reds came to do, well, whatever Luis Suarez
wanted to do.
Police were forced to step in and separate both Manchester United and Liverpool players at
half-time after Patrice Evra confronted Luis Suarez in the tunnel. Suarez refused to shake Evra's
hand prior to kick-off as tension between the pair continue to simmer in the wake of Suarez's
eight-match ban after racially abusing the French defender.
Rio eats grass After the handshake controversy, Manchester United captain Patrice Evra made it his
ambition to plant one on Luis Suarez within the first minute of this afternoon's match. But he
missed and it was team-mate Rio Ferdinand who felt the brunt of his challenge instead, leading to
this spectacular faceplant.
In their first meeting since Liverpool's Luis Suarez returned from his eight-match ban for
racially abusing Manchester United's Patrice Evra, Suarez continued the already tedious matter and
proved he's not above lying to his own manager all during the nonsensical pre-match handshakes.
As the Liverpool players shook hands with their counterparts, Suarez tried to skip over Evra and
shake David De Gea's hand, but Evra tried to force a gesture of peace by grabbing Suarez's arm.
The Greater Manchester Police reportedly confiscated all copies of a Manchester United fanzine
called Red Issue outside of Old Trafford ahead of the big handshake showdown (and football match)
between Man United and Liverpool. The unofficial magazine was deemed "incitement to racial hatred"
for including a cut-out of a KKK mask with the words "LFC" at the top and "Suarez is innocent" at
the bottom in reference to Liverpool's steadfast defense of Luis Suarez even after he was found
guilty of racially abusing Patrice Evra and banned for eight matches.
Any hope of the Manchester United v Liverpool match passing without the racism row blowing up again
disappeared during the pre-match formalities when Luis Suarez refused to shake hands with Patrice
Evra. Evra held his hand out for Suarez and, having been snubbed, grabbed at the Uruguayan in an
attempt to enforce a handshake.

Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra will face each other on the field for the first time since the
controversial racism charges against Suarez when Manchester United and Liverpool renew their
rivalry in today's marquee match-up.
Suarez will be key to the Reds chances of knocking off Manchester United in a vital match-up for
both teams.
Manchester United and Liverpool will again battle it out for the third time this season with
United still reeling from their FA Cup exit to the Red's last month 2-1 at Anfield, however United
have only lost twice in 33 home games as you can read below in our match facts for todays Battle of
Britain.
Manchester United – Liverpool FC; the very thought of it strikes every chord of passion
amongst either set of fans. This particular derby has often failed to exhibit the mesmerising
displays of copacetic football expected by the neutrals across the globe. The contest which is
often decided by individual bravura is widely described as ‘pixelated' around the world.
Admit it, there's nothing more exciting than football drama, and
today's United-Liverpool showdown at Old Trafford has all the ingredients that
scream "Phantom Of The SuarezGate II!" Whether Patrice
Evra and Luis Suarez will be :
a) shaking hands (-20 points),
b) doing the Uruguayan cumbia dance (+10 points) or
c) shoving jalapeños down each other's throats (+40 points) ;
Past statistics favour goals from both sides and hopefully mio dios!

It's ok... I've got it...Liverpool make the short trip up the M62
on Saturday to face their North West rivals Manchester United. After knocking United out of the FA
Cup last month Liverpool will certainly feel like they have a great chance on Saturday despite the
match being played on United's home turf.
