As my co-blogger Chris said, they scored four goals!

United's slick passing machine simply too good for Pompey...

1
Predictably, much has been made of the Reds lack of a cutting edge up front without an obvious out and out striker available to Fergie. But on the evidence of the Champions performance against Portsmouth on Monday night there's little worry about, with Rooney and in particular Carlos Tevez looking razor sharp. Vidic: Paddy And I Laugh At Disastrous Derby Debut

Arsenal today signed French full-back Mikel Silvestre from title rivals Manchester United. The injury-plagued 31 year old will sign for the Gunners on a two-year deal, for an undisclosed fee, although national reports suggest the move was a free transfer.

Silvestre promises to bring a wealth of experience and maturity to what is a tender Emirates dressing room, which is though to be the thinking behind the transfer. Click to continue reading...

Arsenal sign French defender Mikael Silvestre

Arsenal have signed French defender Mikael Silvestre from Manchester United. Patrice Evra, another Frenchman, took over the leftback spot from Silvestre at United, although Evra didn't initially displace him. United look set to play to Samba beat with Brazilians looking good......

63
Pre-season games can often look like an exercise in going through the motions in preparation for the real thing, and with United failing to sign any big names this summer many supporters will no doubt be slightly frustrated at the club's inability to find a new striker.

It does seem a bit ridiculous that Fergie hasn't been able to get his man thus far given the success of last season and money in the bank. Click to continue reading...

Fergie: We Would Have Developed Chelsea Mikel The Right Way

Tunnel Trouble For Vieira & Van Nistelrooy

Vieira and Patrice Evra were reportedly caught on camera exchanging heated words in the tunnel at Stade de Suisse (see video) after the 4-1 trouncing, the latter having to be restrained by compatriot Jean-Alain Boumsong. But most intriguing are the claims that Vieira almost came to blows with Holland striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, who supposedly leaped at the opportunity to rub some salt into still-fresh wounds.
