In a rematch of their previous weekend's game, the Kansas Magic prevailed this time, scoring the
final goal in a back-and forth game and winning 6-5 on their home floor on Saturday, January
22.
The Magic opened the scoring at 4:24 of the 1st quarter as Mirsad Dzilic scored on a nice pass from
Chaz O'Dell, but the Kings responded at 5:46 with goal by Allen Eller, assisted by Drew Ducker.

Aaron Byrd, Detroit WazaByrd's dramatic goal capped off a career night. Byrd got his second seven-point game of the season
and the first five goal game of his career. The 30-year old has become Detroit's hottest scorer
with 21 points in his last four games.

Head Coach Randall Porter about the away games in Cincinnati and Detroit – how well the
team did and what he learned from this road trip:"To be honest, I don't think we fared as well as we hoped we'd fare.
PASL - Player of the WeekGerardo Villa, Revolucion TijuanaVilla, 25, was one of 11 Revolucion players who received a visa last week and can now travel with
the team into the United States. In the meantime, Villa has been putting up prolific numbers at the
team's Furati home arena.

The Kansas Magic continued their 2-game road trip in Detroit on Saturday night. Seeking to gain a
split in their weekend games, the Kansas Magic failed to outscore the Detroit Waza and lost 10-7 at
the Taylor Sportsplex.
Behind 4-0 after the 1st quarter, the Magic could only match the Waza's output for the 2nd quarter
and trailed 6-2 at halftime.
You may member an indoor soccer team called the Phoenix Monsoon (the one that listed me as its
play-by-play announcer despite not actually, you know, consummating a deal with me). This was its
maiden season in the PASL, and they had big plans for it. Well, the original owner was out before
Christmas and the new owners have changed the name of the team to the Arizona Storm.

DETROIT WAZARecord: 6-1 (1st place, Eastern Division).
The Kansas Magic played their first game since December 10; their first game against a new
opponent; and their first road game other than Illinois Friday night in Cincinnati and came out on
the short end of a 9-4 score.
The Magic, making their first major road trip of the season, left Kansas City Thursday evening and
stopped overnight in Effingham, IL before continuing on to Cincinnati this morning.

Romero followed up his record setting nine goal game with a five goal, one
assist night against the Anaheim Bolts. Romero helped rally Tijuana from a 7-2 deficit to pull out
a 14-13 win in what was surely the most important game of the season to date.

The 22 year old phenomenon who scored nine goals in a game last week is no
fluke according to Tijuana Head Coach Joe Pollard. Romero had a hat trick in the second quarter and
four goals in the fourth quarter, and scored the last six Tijuana goals of the game.

After eight weeks of MISL action Baltimore and Milwauikee continue to reside at the tops of their
respective divisions. The Wave remain the lone undefeated MISL club at 7-0 while Norfolk continue
their inaugural season without a win at 0-9.
League-wide attendance has remained steady throughout the 2011-2012 campaign.

Player/Head Coach Randall Porter: His answer when I asked him what the team learned from the
Waza game:
"The first thing we learned is to try to put a game away when we have the opportunity. At one point
we were up 6-2 with 5 minutes to go in the 3rd period and let them get 2 goals back and make it a
game again.

The Kansas Magic bolstered their roster this week by adding 2 players familiar to followers of
college and indoor soccer in the Kansas City area. Both locals participated in the Missouri Comets'
invitational tryouts prior to the 2010/2011 season.
Midfielder/Forward
James Katajwa played at Park University (MO) and was named to the
2007/2008 PASL All-Star team during his 3 years with the Kansas City Kings.
The Professional Arena Soccer League 2011-2012 season is just barely under way with 20 games played
league wide by it's 12 teams through the end of November.
All season long,
Indoor Soccer News will track the attendance of both the
MISL and PASL to guage fan support.

The Kansas Magic started their season with an away-and-home series with the Illinois Piasa and
emerged victorious in both games to begin the season on the top of the PASL-Pro's Eastern
Division.
In front of 658 at Piasa's home The Sports Academy on Saturday November 5, the Magic scored the
last 2 goals to squeak to an 11-9 win in their very first regular season game.

A second Kansas City area indoor soccer team has been located on the Kansas side of the metro.
The Kansas Magic of the are managed and owned by
B.J. Latas, a former professional
goalkeeper with the St. Louis Ambush of the NPSL.
Most of the preseason Professional Indoor Soccer news has revolved around MISL clubs but lately
there has been a flurry of news surrounding PASL teams.
Some PASL teams are rumored to be sitting out the upcoming 2011-2012 season with both the Cougars
and Omaha Vipers apparently unable to secure arenas.

has partnered with Nike to provide the Sockers uniforms. The Sockers are also partnering with
SoccerFanatic to help make purchasing San Diego Sockers merchandise easier for fans.
The new Sockers uniforms by Nike will feature the recently revealed new Sockers Crest seen
below:

some time this November.
