Controversial striker El-Hadji Diouf has dropped down to the Championship to join Doncaster Rovers on a three-month deal. This town is a rugby town. The red and white horizontal stripes of the Warriors have always been the biggest team in the Greater Manchester town of Wigan, dominating the Rugby Super League with names such as Martin Offiah, Jason Robinson and Andy Farrell standing tall as the sons of Wigan. The blue and white vertical stripes, those that share the DW Stadium with their rugby league brothers, are represented as the lesser sibling of the Warriors in a town that is synonmous pie eating and harsh North Western living conditions.

I was planning on leaving this until after the transfer window had shut but to be honest I'm sick and tired of reading, writing and talking about what stadium we might be playing in come 2016 or whatever date it ends up being. I'm sure I'm not the only one. It's important of course but the longer it goes on and the more talk there is the closer I feel like I support a company and not a football club.

I saw this little diddy in the Daily Mail and it made me sigh deeply.

A return to his old club is the 29-year-old's only option in the Barclays Premier League because he made one appearance for Fulham in August before joining Liverpool, and the rules state that players cannot represent three top-flight teams in the same season.
