CorrespondentsWay back in April, in what I'm pretty sure was our first-ever Tuesday XI, we
devised a lineup of superheroes, ready to take the pitch against all-comers. Here now at last,
we've found the comers, an opposition squad ready to give those heroes the fight of their lives, or
at least a game every now and then on Sundays.

Holiday season is nearby and the season is getting more and more interesting as Real Madrid
finally have the upper hand on Barcelona heading into the El Clasico and in the English Premier
League, Manchester United is yet again leading the chasing pack but this time behind Manchester
City.
Serie A leaders Juventus came from 2 goals down to draw with Napoli at the San Paolo stadium in
a enthralling Serie A fixture last night. Goals from Hamsik and Pandev in the first half put the
host in the driving seat and in position to secure all points on offer before a resurgent
Bianconeri responded with goals from Matri, Marcelo Estigarribia and Simone Pepe saved Juventus
from suffering their first loss of the season.
Normally, it is not a good idea to tell your employer that are over it. But, this is exactly what
Ibrahimovic has done in recent days. The Big Swede was quoted by Corriere dello Sport, saying,
"Football is no longer burning inside me like it used to. "I used not to think about anything else.

They are two of the games great executioners. Their preferred methods of delivering the coup de
grace could hardly be more different, but they share the same efficient outcome. Back in 1998 it
was Fabio Capello's Milan who were on the receiving end of a cold-blooded calcio killing. If you
want a masterclass in the respective abilities of Alessandro Del Piero and Filippo Inzaghi you
need.

Paolo Maldini. Il Capitano. The longest-serving one-club man in football history. He's won
everything there is to win and then done it all again. A man who stood on the very apex of
committed defending for almost 25 years. Cultured, consummate and quintessentially Italian.
With talk of Davide Santon to Newcastle seeming ever likely, the obvious question is where will he
fit into the squad? The 20 year old started plying his trade on the wing and gradually moved back
to his current position as full back, or to be more precise, wing back and despite being right
footed, [.
Football Journeymen There is nothing football fans appreciate more than a one-club player, someone
who loyally commits his whole career to the service of one team. Men like Paolo Maldini, Ryan
Giggs, and Tom Finney have each won places in ... Continue reading →
Nickspinkboots' Note: Kiran Vr from Inside Manchester United is
back and this time he's here to tell you what the most important muscle in Ryan Giggs's body is.
Take your minds out of the gutter, I don't mean THAT. I'm talking about the brain (although, it
doesn't have muscles technically).

Made famous by wearers such as Ronaldo, Paolo Maldini, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Carlos Tevez and
Ronaldinho since 1994, the Nike Tiempo has entered the realm of classic soccer boots. Now the
latest version of the boot has been released in the form of the Nike Tiempo Legend IV Elite

Perhaps the two classiest teams of the past 20 years are Barcelona of today and AC Milan of the
early 90's.
What if they played today? Jonathan Wilson breaks down the hypothetical match-up.
Should Barcelona win the Champions League this year, though, it would have good claim to be the
best side since Sacchi's.
But what would happen if the teams played each other? Both probably produced their greatest
displays in beating Real Madrid 5-0, Barcelona earlier this season; AC Milan in the European Cup
semifinal in 1989 (both, oddly, also drew 1-1 in the Bernabeu the same season). So let's take the
lineups from those two games and pit them against each other.

A week or so after proclaiming him to be the future of English football, the best young player
in the known universe, the new (but slower) Claude Makelele and the saviour of everything that is
good and holy, England manager Fabio Capello has ladled yet more crushing expectation onto Jack
Wilshere's young shoulders by directly comparing him to some of the greatest players to have ever
graced the game.
Here we go again.
With the class of 2010 ruthlessly chewed up and spat out by the media; labelled spoilt over-paid,
over-rated wasters, the press hordes have moved onto their next target.
That person is Jack Wilshire, a young player of extreme talent yes, but one who is already been
placed on a pedestal he is not yet qualified to fill.
Michael Cox is the editor of the award-winning tactics site Zonal Marking. He also does
regular chalkboard analysis for the Guardian and appears on their Football Weekly podcast. But
then, you probably knew all that. So let's just hear about Michael's favourite goal
...
First, let me acknowledge that this is a strange choice of goal.
We at In The Stands almost spat out our cups
of tea upon reading quotes from renowed football agent Jorge Mendes claiming that Cristiano Ronaldo
is: "the greatest player in the history of football".
Yes, the ever-humble and down-to-earth agent of CR7 has gone on record and suggested
that, in addition to being the best player in the world at present, Portuguese and Real
Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is also the greatest player of all time!
