Back on the boards in Manchester town,
With bags of tricks to please
Even the hardest-hearted haters of fun.
And, as gay as a lark on a breeze,
To serve you well in truth and jest
And, just a touch of tease

Why England face some tricky games in Euro 2012 but I'm backing them to
qualify
After another draw that was like watching paint dry, England came out last of all but,
thankfully, avoided the traditional Group of Death. On paper, Fabio Capello must be happy with the
opposition, but we said the same in South Africa for the World Cup last year.
Wre-cking crew Two car loads of Wrexham supporters this week drove to Shrewsbury Town's ground to
try to break into the office of manager Graham Turner. When they failed to break-in they instead
decided to spray paint 'Wrexham FC' onto the stadium. Unfortunately for them, Shrewsbury's senior
events officer Steve Gittins was monitoring the club's [.
In Johnstone Paint Trophy round of 16 action, Brentford's Mike Grella did a hat trick alert one
better. See for yourself...- Greg Seltzer
Mike Grella hasn't been lighting up the scoreboards ever since making the move to Europe in
2009, but that wasn't the case on Tuesday.
Grella enjoyed a career day by scoring four goals in Brentford's 6-0 win over rival Bournemouth
in the quarterfinals of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Time for a little game, at least...that's the dubious pretense anyway. It's actually just a
thinly-veiled chance for me to show off my incredible, award-winning* MS Paint chops with a bit of
Friday afternoon frippery.
Any road up, please feel free to have a crack at pinpointing the six classic football moments
hand drawn by yours truly on Microsoft's finest or just bask in the glory of the supreme
craftsmanship on show.
The theme for the rumour mills this week concerns the possibility of young footballing talent
moving to Spurs and the latest name in the hat is that of Max Clayton, a young striker who had
scouts from no less than 17 Premiership sides watch him score the winner for Crewe in the week.
Crewe boss Dario Gradi has a long history of bringing through young quality players and he had
high hopes for Clayton after the Johnstone's Paint Trophy win over Macclesfield.
Tottenham want wonderkid Max Clayton
Harry Redknapp is lining up a move for Crewe's teenage wonderkid Max Clayton. The 17-year-old
scored his first goal in senior football against Macclesfield in the Johnstone's Paint.

A scarier kind of Cup knockout The Johnstone's Paint Trophy match between Accrington Stanley and
Tranmere Rovers was called off last night when Stanley defender Tom Bender suffered a head injury.
The 18-year-old was knocked unconscious in a collision with his goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin and
Tranmere striker Lucas Akins.

Take a breather, son Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Nicky Weaver was subbed less than 90 seconds
into his side's Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to Bradford City last night, despite not appearing
to be injured. The bizarre substitution appeared to be Owls boss Gary Megson's attempt at
circumnavigating rules that you must name at least six of [.

Raise you hand if your first thought was 'So how quickly did Ever Banega volunteer for the
viral?', even before watching it...
He may or may not be in the video. I don't know. Eyes were too busy being diverted to the very
interesting paint on the walls.
Anyway, don't be surprised to see the female population at the Mestalla to significantly
increase next season.
As the Thunder were beating the Mavs in Game 2, there was an unmistakable play of the game.
Kevin Durant's dunk on Brendan Haywood wasn't just the dunk of the night, it was Durant's best dunk
of his career. You gotta watch the Kevin Durant dunk video below! The dunk is stupid sick.
Kevin Durant Dunk Over Brendan Haywood
As the video begins, Kevin Durant gets the ball and is defended by Peja Stojakovic.
Almost a week ago, Alaska Airlines debuted the final product of their "Paint the Plane" contest to
fans. The MLS themed plane celebrates the city's very own Portland Timbers and was a combination of
designs submitted by Paul Wright of Portland, Oregon and John Bode of San Mateo, California.
As the official airline and shirt sponsor for the club, Alaska Airlines has extended another
benefit to Timbers' fans who will be flying out of the Portland International Airport during the
current MLS season.
Jeremy Sharpe, of 'Stache Bash and Conduct/YSA fame, brings a new contest to the Brotherly Game
for its readers. Sharpe is one of the Sons of Ben's game day drummers in the River End and has a
drum that is currently unpainted.
At 14 inches, this marching snare has plenty of room for someone's design to make an impact
upon.
Prior to Game 5 between the Los Angeles Lakers and the New Orleans Hornets, Kobe Bryant said his
foot was injured. I guess not. Check out the video below to see one of the best dunks you will ever
see out of Kobe Bryant. Emeka Okafor was the Hornets player getting posterized. The dunk, as you
could imagine, got Kobe Bryant going and the Lakers fans in an uproar.
Jeremiah Oshan of the SB Nation Seattle Sounders blog Sounder at
Heart joins me today to chat about the Philadelphia Union's home game against the Sounders.
Jeremiah: Wait, are we on the radio? This is not how I remember radio working.
Scott: It's so I don't forget it later, shush.
Almost 100% of the time time, NBA coaches won't answer a question regarding which team they want
to face in the playoffs. George Karl, however, wasn't afraid to answer the question. He's also not
afraid of the Dallas Mavericks. The outspoken coach of the Denver Nuggets, who has become even more
outspoken ever since the Carmelo Anthony trade, was honest when asked the question coaches almost
always avoid.
We ought to give a pat on the back to Frankie Simek, who starred in Carlisle United's Johnstone's
Paint Trophy win against Brentford on Sunday and became the first American Wembley cup final winner
since Jemal Johnson in 2008, or the first at the new Wembley with an American accent let's
say.Frank has always been an impressive performer in my eyes, and could easily have worked at a
higher level.
First Star: Frank Simek and Carlisle United lifted the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Wembley, beating
Brentford 1-0. The League Trophy is contested between clubs in League One and League Two. Peter
Murphy scored the game's only goal in the 12th minute. Simek went the distance in a game where
Carlisle dominated the chances.
Morning all,
it's a measure of how quiet it still is that one of the main stories on the official site is
Jeremie Aliadiere: my Arsenal career. In terms of capturing one's interest ahead of a title run-in
it's up there with Jeremie Aliadiere: the top 5 walls I like to watch paint dry on.
There has still been no official update on post-Interlull injuries but according to The Guardian
we're hopeful that van Persie will be fit, along with Abou Diaby and Nicklas Bendnter who injured
his ankle in no-man's land while away with Denmark.
Here we are, on the eve of the match, and the big question is... will we play, or not?

PORTLAND, Ore. The Portland Timbers and Alaska Airlines invite soccer fans to create artwork to
adorn a Boeing 737-700 in a "Paint the Plane" contest. The Timbers-branded plane will be revealed
this spring during the club's 2011 debut Major League Soccer season. Fans can download the plane's

U.S. national team striker Jozy Altidore was handed a rare start for Spanish power Villarreal,
but he couldn't keep his squad from being knocked out of the Copa Del Rey quarterfinals after a 3-0
loss to Sevilla.
Altidore played 62 minutes, and showed some glimpses, but struggled to make an impact as the
left forward in a 4-3-3 attack.
