Benfica opened their season at home against Maritimo with a 1-1 draw as the Eagles dominated just about the entire game and only a first half penaly taken by Alonso had Maritimo up at the half. Pacos Ferreira have started their third round qualifying campaign in the UEFA Europa League with a loss to Bnei Yehuda 1-0 in Tel Aviv. Pacos Ferreira have advance in UEFA Europa League play after a 1-0 victory over Zimbru. Cristiano got the late marker in the 84th minute after coming in as a substitute in the 64th minute. Pacos win the aggregate 1-0 after playing the first leg to a 0-0 draw. Pacos now play in the third round qualifying stage which takes place July 30 and August 6 against Yeduda Tel Aviv from Isreal. Pacos Ferreira is the first portuguese team to have action in European play this seaon as they competed in the 2nd Qualifying Stage of the New Europa League. Pacos were held to a draw by FC Zimbru on the road today 0-0 as the Moldovan team played a tough defensive first match. Pacos will now travel back home for the 2nd leg looking for a victory. FC Porto wrapped up the Portuguese season with another trophy as they take the Taca De Portugal with a 1-0 victory over Pacos Ferreira. Lisandro Lopez opened the scoring early on Porto's first shot of the match and the Dragons held on the rest of the way. With one week left in the Portuguese first division everything is pretty much decided. FC Porto has won their fourth straight league title and will play Pacos Ferreira in the final of the Taca de Portugal. Porto struggled early on, but after the midway point of the season they took control and cruised along to another title.

FC Porto survived a surprising Amadora at home, after Farias gave the hosts a 1-0 lead early. Amadora struck back with goals by R. Quique Floros has decided to keep David Suazo out of the lineup when Benfica take on Pacos Ferreira tomorrow. Suazo suited up for Honduras on Wednesday in World Cup qualifying action and returned late to Portugal.
