For the second straight week, the top teams in the nation suffered through some shocking upset
defeats.
In its penultimate game of the regular season, top-ranked Maryland lost to Clemson, 2-1. The
Terps had a man advantage for much of the match, but Clemson was able to exploit the makeshift back
line Maryland used, scoring twice in the second half to win the game.

UCLA midfielder Kelyn Rowe knows a thing or two about trying to live up to high expections.

The Los Angeles Galaxy is preparing to embark on a three-city road trip but may be without its
biggest star, Landon Donovan, for the start of its first match.
The Galaxy captain has missed the last past two days of practice in order to get himself fit for
the upcoming trip.
Through standout performances at Development Academy Finals Week in 2009 and 2010, Kelyn Rowe's
stock rose. The U.S. U-20 MNT coaches kept their eyes on him during his freshman season at UCLA,
during which he scored seven goals and led the team with 10 assists en route to being named the
PAC-10 Freshman of the Year.

Seattle Sounders, and one that seems to want those connections to be as strong as they possibly can
be. As in the other football, he clearly sees his number one goal to put up a fence around the
state and keep every great player at here, while picking up good players from around the country,
as well.
California goalkeeper David Bingham has signed a Generation adidas contract with Major League
Soccer and will be made available in a special draft lottery before the 2011 MLS season, sources
told SBI on Monday.
Bingham was regarded as one of the top two goalkeeping prospects heading into the 2011 MLS
Draft, but was left out of the 2011 Generation adidas draft class after failing to reach an
agreement.
Stevie Nicol and the New England brass once again showed their collective eye for talent in
snapping up five excellent picks in the 2011 MLS Superdraft. Here is a summary and brief analysis
of the Revs' selections:
Rd. 1 Pick #6: AJ Soares, Central Defender, University of California
Soares was a great choice for the squad.
Last year, I examined the percentage of Superdraft picks who were named to an all-conference team
for the past season of college soccer (link here). For the past three years, 145 out of 164 players
drafted (88.4%) fit that criteria. So how'd it go this year?
There were 54 players drafted in the 2011 MLS Superdraft.
