Who will Dallas protect this year? (Getty Images)
With the expansion draft being next week I have to pull in some two-a-days for my expansion
draft lists. Earlier today we looked at DC United's roster and who could be protected or not not
this afternoon I want to turn our attention to FC Dallas.

FC Dallas has moved on from Pablo Ricchetti and the one-time captain will no longer be training
with the team. While FC Dallas has not waived Ricchetti, the coach has cut ties and informed the
player he is not wanted in Dallas anymore. Everything we do right now is trying to get better,"
Said Hyndman.

FC Dallas has announced their media voted awards for 2009 and Jeff Cunningham has been named FC
Dallas MVP. Sparking FCD's second half surge with sixteen goals in 14 games was enough to get
Cunningham the nod. Dario Sala won the Defender of the year award after showing leadership and
stability behind a constantly changing back line.

In what could be one of the first real signs of discontent to break into the open, FC Dallas
Captain Pablo Ricchetti has expressed his unhappiness to reporters and has apparently asked to be
let go or traded. For the last few days in training Ricchetti has been playing center back with the
second team while Ugo Ihemelu has been playing center back with the first team next to George John.

Our Galaxy (9-4-11) host FC Dallas (6-11-6) tonight at the Home Depot Center at 7:30 Pacific
(FSN-PT and Direct Kick). The Galaxy is only 2 points out of first place in the Western Conference,
while FC Dallas is in second to last place in the West. FC Dallas is all but certain to miss the
playoffs with a minimum 10 point deficit to overcome for a wild card spot.

If anyone has watched Major League Soccer in the first 2 months, its been very apparent that
there's been a rise in the number of red cards. Only a few weeks ago, the Kansas City Wizards had 2
player sent off against Chivas USA. It seems almost clockwork that at least one or two players will
receive a red card every weekend and in some weeks its been more.

FC Dallas walked out of BMO Field last weekend and snatched their first point of the season against
Toronto FC, thanks to Pablo Ricchetti's stunning heel shot in the 87th minute of the match. Now the
home-and-home series shifts to Frisco where both the Reds and the Red Stripes look to grab the
three points each left behind in last Saturday's fake turf war.

It's all about finishing. FC Dallas again could not find the finishing touch in a tie with Toronto
FC in the Great White North (queue Geddy Lee) Saturday afternoon. With a nifty back heel in the 89'
mark from Pablo Ricchetti, the Red Stripes equalized a Dewayne De Rosario goal to gain their first
point of the season in a match that ended 1-1.

Causing headaches for FC Dallas for the second straight of season is the continued request by
Pablo Ricchetti to receive the larger contract he says he was promised when he signed with Dallas.
Ricchetti has recently requested a trade to the LA Galaxy or a release so he can join a team in
Mexico. FCD head coach Schellas Hyndman says he's not pleased by Ricchetti's most recent move.

Getting ready to leave to head on my second road trip of the year, this time down to Dallas for the
Wizards 4th of July encounter with FC Dallas. Both teams are coming into the game on short rest, as
they each played in the US Open Cup Tuesday night, where both teams won. Dallas should be the
fresher team from that, though, as they were at home, and pulled off their win in regulation, while
the Wizards had to travel to Carolina and went into extra time against the Railhawks.

Houston Dynamo 1-1 FC DallasIn ESPN's continuing effort to deprive soccer fans of the chance to actually watch scheduled
events, the sports network pre-emptied the first half of last nights outing due to an overtime
basketball game. I understand the need to show the basketball game, but why not throw the MLS match
over to ESPN Classic or is the viewing audience for a 15 year old, middle-weight boxing match
really so great that it would be a crime to do such a thing?

It is finally official, Denilson is going to Dallas. After months of negotiations, the two sides
have reached an agreement that will see the World Cup winner (the fourth in MLS history) take to
the pitch as soon as his work visa is granted.
However, before he does that, FC Dallas must make room on their roster, which means trading a
senior international (SI).
