On the 27th of May 2010, UEFA announced the approval of the Financial Fair Play(FFP)
regulations. The aim of these regulations is to make the football clubs self sufficient. With the
advent of these sanctions, every football club has to break even i.
Despite sitting 6th, 5pts out of 5th place, Liverpool got some good news (of sorts) today. LeBron
James has picked up a minority stake in the club. The WSJ points out that this is "the first time
that a professional athlete at the top of his game has taken an ownership interest in a team with
the size and reach of Liverpool".
Chad Ochocinco is currently on trial with the MLS's Sporting Kansas. If you haven't heard, the NFL
player was given a 4 day trail with the Kansas City team starting March 22nd. With the eminent NFL
lockout, many NFL players are looking for ways to earn extra money as well as stay relevant. For
most of these players, this means picking up more endorsement deals and beefing up the publicity.
