The NHL needs to make money any way possible these days. To bring in some extra cash, the NHL
sold the naming rights to the 2012 NHL All-Star Game to Tim Horton Doughnut Shop. The game will now
be known as the 2012 Tim Hortons NHL All-Star Game.
Tim Horton was an NHL player for 24 years until he died in 1974 in a car crash.
Admittedly, we don't cover women's soccer around here as much as we probably should. There is,
after all, a professional team playing under the name Sounders that was once officially part of the
same organization. They play their games at Starfire and are actually hosting the USL's W-League
Final Four starting tonight.
Oooh, natural grass pitch! The Nutrilite Canadian Championship just got more muddled. Well, by "just" we mean in 2014 - the
projected inaugural season for Ottawa's new NASL club. Scheduled to play in a revamped Lansdowne
Park Stadium alongside a new CFL club, Ottawa will be joining the ranks of Canadian pro footy clubs
alongside the three MLS squads and their NASL brethren FC Edmonton.

If you missed last nights Miami Ultras Alive you MUST listen below. One of our best shows thanks to
Tim Robbie.
Fort Lauderdale Strikers President Tim Robbie talked for about an hour about the Strikers stadium
situation and the future of the team. Tim also broke the news on MUA#10 that Ottawa will be joining
the NASL.
Last week, I looked at what would've happened if the NFL had promotion and relegation. Today, I
look at the NHL using the same rules.
Like the NFL, there's a clear point in which implementing it would've made sense. That's the
1967-68 expansion which saw the size of the league double, from the long-standing six teams to
twelve.
I get a lot of emails and comments from people that want help getting onto an MLS team.
I have no idea what to do.
but I did a tiny bit of research and found this:
Most teams will want you (or more likely your agent) to send them your soccer resume along with
some video.
