So after reading yesterday about Dynamo co-owner Oscar De La Hoya providing a bus for
supporters' groups to get to the MLS Cup Final this weekend (link here), I got to wondering just
how well-provisioned that bus was going to be. I mean, was every Dynamo supporter on board going to
have the necessaries, the things that would make this a truly memorable and enjoyable
experience?
The 2011 MLS Cup Final at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California is only days away, and
with the Houston Texans on a NFL bye week, the Dynamo have been feeling the love in their home
city. On Wednesday evening a rally was held in Houston for the Dynamo before their departure to

I recently received an email from a Houston Dynamo fan, who informed me of a little predicament
regarding partial owner Oscar De La Hoya. I recommend you read this one for yourself:

LA.

On a beautiful sunny Saturday Afternoon in downtown Houston, a big festival was forming while
dignitaries from MLS, City of Houston, State of Texas and the members of the Dynamo were all on a
stage showing everyone what will entail for this 22,000 seat stadium that will be ready for the
2012 season.

The Houston Dynamo broke ground on their stadium on Saturday, an event which prompted some wistful
stadium-related musings from me in the days prior. In a general sense, things are pretty good for
us when it comes to soccer stadiums. Specifically, Houston's new digs (opening in 2012) could very
well put that city over the top as the leading soccer town in the country.
HOUSTON Houston Dynamo minority owner Oscar De La Hoya joined city and county officials Saturday at
the groundbreaking for the team's $95 million, soccer-specific stadium. The 22,000-seat venue is
situated near downtown within walking distance of Minute Maid Park, the Toyota Center and the
city's massive convention center.

At last, the shovels are in the dirt and construction can begin on the Houston Dynamo's new
downtown stadium. It's been a long time coming for ownership, staff and fans and all the speed
bumps, delays and political debates are over. All that matters now is that this time next year,
we'll be preparing to open a beautiful new soccer stadium in Houston.
Tonight, all Dynamo fans need to remember what the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy taught
us...Don't Panic.
Yes the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Dynamo Stadium that was scheduled for Saturday has
been postponed. Yes this is an unfortunate bummer but the project is safe, the stadium will be
built, and the Dynamo will have a new home in 2012.
