Copa Del Rey Fixture

2
This round of the Copa del Rey has some intriguing storyline.  The biggest game of the stage is undoubtedly Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.  The biggest player on the field on Tuesday will be Lio Messi.   Players like Samuel Eto'o, Sergio Agüero, Xavi, and Carles Puyol missing from the pitch will mean that there will [.

Click to continue reading...

Beasley's Car Vandalized in Glasgow

9
Now this is just plain cold. It looks like he is the fourth Rangers player to have his car vandalized this way. Too bad they picked a guy who has only made a handful of appearances this year.

No wonder Da Beas' may be be interested in a move to someplace warm like Osasuna, Espanyol, or Wolfsburg (where he can see more playing time and keep his BMW in one piece). Click to continue reading...

The One Thing Wrong with Valencia

3

This has been pointed out by Dina in yesterday's comments and by some other posters around the internet, the one thing wrong with Valencia CF as currently constructed: Our lack of another goalscorer besides David Villa.

Look at the numbers: In 4 games, Villa has scored half of Valencia's 8 goals, tied with Florent Sinama Pongolle of Atletico Madird and Rafael Van der Vaart of Real Madrid as Pichichi (leading scorer) of La Liga.

World Talent: Carlos Vela

4
Carlos Vela has found himself in a minor predicament – will he follow in the footsteps of Hugo Sanchez or Thierry Henry? Depending where your loyalties lie, Mexicans have resembled him to their great legend and former manager, while the Arsenal faithful have gunned Vela as their next club legend. Can the former U17 World Cup Golden Shoe winner truly live up to the summit of expectations being levelled against him? Click to continue reading...

Arsene Wenger does it again

4
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has done it again. It would appear he has signed yet another terrific young talent in the shape of Carlos Vela. The 18-year old Mexican scored a hat-trick on his full debut tonight against Sheffield United in the League Cup third round.

Vela has spent three seasons on loan at Celta Vigo, Salamanca and Osasuna while the player waited to receive a work permit in the UK. Click to continue reading...

Leaders

2

I know, I know. It's early. The season is only three games old.

But still, after all the stuff we went through last season, isn't it nice to say we're the leaders in Spain?

That's right. Valencia CF are on top of the Spanish La Liga mountain after three games courtesy of our 1-0 victory over Osasuna.

Villa, Osasuna, Timo and Valencia

1

So it looks like David Villa is ready and able to play against Osasuna tomorrow after all.

I'm happy about that. And while I will let this issue slide, I am still of the opinion that bringing Villa into the game against Maritimo on Thursday was the wrong decision. He shoots and scores and we're all really happy about it.
