It was the final weekend in many of the European leagues as goalkeeper Tim Howard grabbed another clean sheet for Everton, and midfielder Maurice Edu played for Rangers who won the Scottish Premier League title. In the League 1 Promotion Play-off final Zak Whitbread and Millwall fell to Scunthorpe, but Michael Bradley and Monchengladbach were able to avoid relegation.

It was a busy weekend for Americans Abroad with Oguchi Onyewu and Carlos Bocanegra scoring goals for their respective clubs. Tim Howard earned another clean sheet while Clint Dempsey and Fulham defeated Brad Friedel and Aston Villa. Maurice Edu played for Rangers in the "Old Firm" as they defeated Celtic, and Zak Whitbread played for Millwall who's in the English League One promotion playoffs.

I didn't get to see enough of the USA/Poland match to write a full match report, but I just wanted to come on here to quickly point out how great our defense looked against a quality European team. It wasn't enough for Bocanegra and Onyewu to just shut down every one of Poland's attacks, they also felt the need to each score a goal too! Click to continue reading...
