With Thursday night's official announcement that the U.S. men's national team will be taking on
Canada in a pre-World Cup qualifying friendly at BMO Field in Toronto on June 3, another piece to
the team's 2012 puzzle is in place.
The U.S. Under-23 men's national team has just over a month left before Olympic qualifying takes
place, and Caleb Porter's side wrapped up its penultimate camp last week in Costa Rica with a pair
of friendlies.
Playing without some of its top players, the Americans played to a scoreless draw with the
Saprissa reserves.

Despite both sides having punched their tickets to the 2012 London Olympics, bragging rights and
a No. 1 seed were on the line when the United States Women clashed with Canada last night.
Thanks to the continued brilliance of Abby Wambach and young gun Alex Morgan, the United States
trotted out a 4-0 victory to cap off what has largely been a pedestrian Olympic Qualifying.
Alex Morgan scores two goals, two assists in 4-0 American win. The U.S. Women's National Team
defeated Canada 4-0 on Sunday evening in front of 25,427 mostly Canadian fans at BC Palace in
Vancouver. With the dominating performance and win, the U.S. takes the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying
Championship, their third consecutive.
Through the first four games of Olympic qualifying, the United States silenced each of its
powerless opponents. On Sunday, it was Canada's time.
The U.S. defense pitched its fifth shutout of the tournament while Alex Morgan and Abby Wambach
each netted a pair of goals to give the Americans a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Canada at BC
Place in Vancouver.

The U.S. women's national team cruised through the Group Stage of Olympic qualifying and now
just needs a win on Friday against Costa Rica to reach the Summer Games in London.
There's one problem: Hope Solo might not play.
The USWNT is pissed. Seriously. How else would you explain the fact that they went 3-0 in the group
stages of Olympic Qualifying with a +31 goal differential and no goals against? The latest
installment saw the US beat Mexico by a score of only 4-0. I say only because with 14-0 and 13-0
scorelines in the previous two matches, 4-0 seems kind of anticlimatic.
It's going to take quite a bit for Olympic qualifying of any type to make any type of news,
unless David Beckham is personally championing his merits for the cause. Women's CONCACAF
qualifiers? That will take something extraordinary. Like Costa Rica's keeper Julieth Arias and the
dreaded bouncy backpass.
This generous lady poetically proves USWNT supporters can run with some rivalry smack as good as
the fellas - albeit in their own particular grrrl-y way. Her offering actually came before last
night's 4-0 Olympic qualifying win over Mexico (who do we have to bribe up to get highlights?!?), I
think it also stands pretty well the day after.
The U.S. Women's National Team just beat the Dominican Republic 14-nil in an Olympic Qualifier
match...
A record for the USWNT.

I tried to tune in to watch the USWNT take on the Dominican Republic at the appointed 10:30 pm
start time last night. In the 10 or so minutes it took me to update the stupid Silverlight player
and get the game to load, I missed the opening 3 goals, which all happened inside the first 7
minutes of the game.

For U.S. Under-23 winger Joe Gyau, the future is now.
Gyau confirmed on his own Twitter feed that he will be in TSG 1899 Hoffenheim's matchday 18
against Hannover 96 this weekend for the first time. Hoffenheim is dealing with a number of
injuries, and Gyau, who has been playing well for the club's U-23 team, is going to get his first
taste of first-team life in the Bundesliga in what could prove to be a seminal year in the
19-year-old winger's career.

After one day of poor weather in Los Angeles, the usual sun has been out for U.S. WNT Training camp
and that means we were able to snap a few pics. We can report that, without a match at the end of
the camp, the U.S. WNT has been working extra hard through a battery of fitness tests, possession
drills, finishing drills and a heck of a lot of playing, whether it be 4 v 4, 6 v 6, 9 v 9 or 11 v.

When Caleb Porter released his initial roster for the upcoming U.S. Under-23 training camp in
Florida, a few omissions raised some eyebrows.
A couple of those players in question are now included, as Borussia Dortmund striker Terrence
Boyd and UCLA playmaker Kelyn Rowe were added to the camp, during which Porter will get a look at
30 players eligible for Olympic qualifying.
Another training camp for the US Men's U-23 players will begin this Thursday, December 15 in

has extended invitations to 28 American players to the camp that ends December 23 as he prepares
the U-23 players for Olympic qualifying in [.
Don Garber's goal to become a top soccer league in the world will take many different efforts.
One of those is likely to be MLS teams attracting strong young talent from other leagues in
CONCACAF. The Seattle Sounders appear to be interested (Goal.com) in one of those, leftback Ever
Alvarado (Football-Lineups).

has been called up by Caleb Porter to the upcoming U-23 Olympic camp in Florida. The camp will take
place December 15th through the 23rd. The camp is in preparation for the upcoming Olympic

could be starring for Mexico during qualifying is Carlos Vela, the perpetually on-loan Arsenal

beauty. Enjoy:

This post contains two options for the meaning of the title. Please pick your favorite and ignore
the other.Option #1 is additional info on Teal Bunbury's proposed visit to Bolton - and perhaps
also Newcastle. There now appear to be a few potential stumbling blocks that could nix the trip to
England.
Most of the attention of American soccer fans has been focused on the senior USMNT's games in
France and Slovenia during this November international break. Rightfully so. But also training
in Europe at this time has been over thirty U.S. players that will constitute much of the American
roster for Olympic qualifying next spring and, [.

competition for the 18 rosters spots for the Sweden game on Nov.
