After a long and illustrious career as one of America's best goalkeepers, Kasey Keller has one
more award to walk off into the sunset with.
The 41-year-old Seattle Sounder was announced as MLS Goalkeeper of the Year on Tuesday in a move
widely expected after he was named to the MLS Best XI last week.
While the Seattle Sounders didn't take the MLS Cup or Supporters Shield in his final season the
American Legend has raked in individual awards. After last week being named the starter on the Best
XI, today Kasey Keller is not just recognized, but running away with the MLS Goalkeeper of the Year
Award.
It only took 2.68 seconds for midfielder, Michail Osinov, to score this goal, from about 51
yards out, for Mitos against Olympia Gelendzhik in a recent Second Division South match in Russia.
While the goal is impressive, Osinov is 35 years old so it's unlikely any higher division clubs
will be looking to acquire the Russian player.

While it's yet to be rubber-stamped, there's a good possibility that the fastest goal ever
scored cropped up in the third-tier of Russian football earlier this month, when veteran Mitos
midfielder Michail Osinov stepped up and cracked one home from kick-off against Olympia Gelendzhik
on September 11th.
Veteran midfielder heads for the record books It looks as though the world record for the fastest
goal has been broken. Almost a month ago. And nobody noticed. That's because the goal was scored by
35-year-old Michail Osinov. He fired in from kick-off after 2.68 secs for Mitos against Olympia
Gelendzhik in the Russian Second [.

We're not sure if corn maze tributes are a 'thing' in MLS fan circles these days, but this is
the second crop-based tribute we've seen in the past couple of months with Seattle Sounder's
veteran 'keeper Kasey Keller getting the treatment this time, courtesy of the Schilter Family Farm
in his hometown of Olympia, Washington.
Yep, 2 for 2 in the championship already. Who would have thought? Certainly not me (if I read
correctly, we had 2 points by this time last season). And really, THESE are the games we must be
winning. Take the 07-08 season for example, where easily avoidable home losses to teams like
Iraklis and Panionios cost us the championship.
