Garber sees growth in MLS. (Getty Images)
I've spent a good portion of the day collecting my thoughts on a couple subjects and then it
happen to be the same day that MLS commish Don Garber had his State of the League address. Yeah,
let's just say some of his comments just made my head go nuts (and your's too judging by some
emails).

Sodium 15 November @ 04:27 PM EST
ESUFC gave Sodium all they could handle for 60 minutes of regulation in the OPL Semi-Final match.
Back and forth all game the play went. Each keeper being called upon keep their team in the game.
Play was physical as free kicks were awarded to both teams throughout the game.
In the end it was Jill Farley from her midfield position that brought the ball deep down the left
side and ripped what we thought was going to be an awesome cross, INTO THE NET!

Anfield Talk 12 November @ 04:04 PM EST
Lucas has vowed to put his Anfield agony behind him to drive England nuts in Doha on Saturday.
The Liverpool man is intent on a Brazil win to help rubber stamp his own World Cup hopes and prove
his team can emerge as champions next summer.
Midfielder Lucas said: "This match is a friendly - but in name only.

Wow, I never thought at this age level that I would see a game like we had Tuesday night against
OSA Inferno. These girls were big and not afraid to throw down! Literally within the first 3
minutes an OSA forward leveled our middle defender. She wasn't going for the ball in any way. It
was a knee driven into the thigh and a hip-check as Taylor brought the ball to her right.

Along with a number of other teams, I currently coach my youngest son's U5 Rec team. Sponsored
by Sheetz, their name is the Lil' Sheetz you gotta love it. Anyway we're playing a match that is
pretty even this past weekend and both teams are scoring plenty of goals and having fun. I think I
had three kids total (it was a cold morning and I had a few sick).

No honestly, I really do. I mean he's clearly absolutely crackers. What, you think all of this
apparent contempt towards Newcastle fans and his bad behaviour is all down to arrogance and spite?
No man, he's nuts. How else do you explain his actions and this reckless and continual 'p*ssing on
his own chips'?

Ducky's Note: This bugger preempted me and wrote a note to my note. So now I'm going to
post-preempt him, and not write him a note. Suffice to say, he's been mentioned here before. And
he's a Chelsea fan.
Lighter's Note to Ducky's Note: Did Ducky mention very smart, very funny and very
single?

Typical boring CONCACAF. Mexico and US qualify with room to spare, Central American teams fight for
the other spots, and some baseball country along to make it a Hex instead of a Pent. We all saw
this coming last year. Ho hum.
So, yeah, that happened.
What more is there to say about Landon Donovan?

It's been a rough few weeks for Jose Mourinho. So when Wesley Sneijder scored an injury time
winner against Udinese on Saturday, Jose went a little nuts as he celebrated the goal and the
release of all that pent-up anger and stress he's been holding in lately.
Unfortunately, not everyone appreciated that namely, Inter president Massimo Moratti.

You may have read in one of "the trades" this morning that your man SF has messed around and got

the span of 3 months.

Every have a day where you just don't want to be anywhere near the internet or technology in
general? That's what I had yesterday, and I'm feeling it a bit today as well so this will probably
just be a quick one. I think it's called burn-out.
Yesterday's thumping win could have been more thumpier, Song hit the post, but that was only
because I had money on him to score at 11-1.

So often as fans we take a team's name for granted. We grow up up with them, they're a part of
the landscape in a fairly unobtrusive way and we only occasionally wonder at what they mean or why
a team is called what it's called. It's a shame, really. The name of a team, as well as its
nickname or emblem or colors or any other traits, can often tell a great story, can give
interesting history lessons or sometimes are just downright bizarre.

Arsenal got a deserved victory against what was quite simply an inferior team. Celtic played the
best they possibly could and only mustered one shot in ninety minutes, whereas we played well below
the level that we all know we are capable of and scored twice.
Wenger opted for the same team that annihilated Everton on Saturday almost certainly in the hope
that they would start with the same swagger as they left off at the weekend.

Whether we are talking about soccer or society, it is a fact that misconduct must be penalized.
If there were no threat of punishment for committing a crime, bad people would likely reign over
the moral with ease. That is why in society we have laws, and in soccer we have Laws of the
Game.

The 11th Law of the Game deals with the "offside position", which is nowhere nearly as dirty as
it sounds when it is put it in quotation marks like that. Offsides is a hotly debated rule of
soccer, and one many lovers of the attack typically detest.
Now, being in an "offside position" (which occurs when a player is nearer to his opponent's goal
line than both the ball and the second to last opponent) is not technicall illegal per se.

walks in the park (with girls), imported beers, and above all The Columbus Crew.

The Special One's Inter Milan was dire, no question.
But Carlo Ancelotti's Chelsea? They were quite impressive during Tuesday's decisive 2-0 win in
Pasadena.
Again, Carlo broke out the 4-1-2-1-2 formation and, again, the result was a tidy attacking
performance.

See The Cup 28 June @ 11:15 AM EST
It was a very balanced match with both team creating chances and a lot of last-minute goals. But
Spain managed to beat South Africa 3-2 on extra-time, after a 2-2 tie on regular time.
It's not everyday that you see a match with so many last-minute goals. Spain almost got its
second consecutive loss if it weren't for Güiza.

I'm glad that Philippe Senderos has said he wants to stay at AC Milan. For his sake, and for
Arsenal's.
I've always felt that he would flourish in Italian football. The slower pace suits his game.
His best performances for Arsenal were in European football where the game isn't as quick as the
Premiership, where at times, he looked out of his depth.
