Henry: "I just could not say no to Arsenal"The ongoing saga of finalizing Thierry Henry's
two month loan to Arsenal reached its conclusion today when the Gunners announced that they had an
agreement in place with the New York Red Bulls and MLS. The deal is intended to allow Arsenal to
bridge the four to six week gap when Gervinho and Marouane Chamakh will be away on Africa Cup of
Nations duty.
Na tactics can compensate for individual mistakes. Bayern's 3-0 win over
Cologne was rich in absurdity. Ribery blew a fuse. The match ball blew out. Cologne blew a one man
advantage. You could add Solbakken's one-off idea to bring back the five man backline to this list.
Except, that it actually worked out pretty well to frustrate Bayern most of the time.

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool has sent scouts to monitor Mehmedi and will battle

Manuel Neuer was reminded he still has a job. Manuel Neuer just replaced Oliver
Kahn as the new Bayern Munich record holder for most consecutive minutes without conceding a goal.
He topped Kahn by 16 minutes and now stands at 1018 minutes and counting. For 928 minutes he barely
needed to lift a finger.
Paul Kennedy of Soccer America reports that US national team right back is apparently leaning
towards playing for Germany.
It was a bad news day on the national team front out of Germany. Former U.S. national team
defender Tony Sanneh tweeted that German national team coach Joachim Loew was going to FC Nuremberg
-- Sanneh's former club -- to meet with U.
Just now, second-hand from Germany coach Joachim Löw, via the team's press officer to me, now to
all of you:"He is not in Nuremberg and he has not spoken to (Timothy Chandler)."--On to the next

Dieter Hecking had. Nuremberg won, played well and found their rhythm despite losing all their
best players in the summer. Cologne lost, played badly and still haven't found their rhythm despite
keeping all their best players.

As surprising as the inclusions of Robbie Rogers, Freddy Adu and Chris Wondolowski on the United
States Gold Cup roster might be, what is perhaps more eye-opening is the list of omissions.
Timmy Chandler, Teal Bunbury and Alejandro Bedoya were all left off of the U.
As the news of the U.S. national team Gold Cup roster selections sink in, here are some
highlights from Bob Bradley's conference call explaining his decisions:
Timmy Chandler was left off because it was decided he needed a rest after playing an extensive
number of minutes for the first time in his pro career, and playing in the Gold Cup would have left
him with little time to recover before the next German season.
Things really have gone from bad to worse for Eintracht Frankfurt since the winter break. Only
one win in 16 games going into their final game of the season away to the newly-crowned champions
of Germany saw the club who occupied seventh place at the winter break start the day in second
bottom and were involved in a real relegation dogfight which hadn't looked like coming at
Christmas.
English speaking BVB fans are on cloud nine. Their German speaking counterparts are on cloud
seven. But maybe there's a way to bring the two together for the big party on May 14th. Roman
Weidenfeller will volunteer as a translator. A 2-0 victory over Nuremberg clinched Dortmund's
seventh German championship and the first title after nine years, thanks to Leverkusen doing, what
Leverkusen does best.
The Champagne might follow later, but inside Borussia Dortmund's mammoth 80,720-strong full house,
the party began fittingly with beer this weekend. Dortmund, the club that almost died of bankruptcy
several times over the past two decades, is the Deutscher Meister — the new and thoroughly
deserved champion of the Bundesliga.
German Bundesliga club 1. FC Nuremberg (also known as 1. FC Nuremberg) has unveiled its adidas
2011/12 home kit. Featuring American international Timothy Chandler, FCN is enjoying its best
season in sometime and currently sits in 6th place in the league table heading into the end of the
10/11 soccer calendar.

Amid reports that Sunderland, Galatasaray and Palermo are courting Borussia Moenchengladbach's
Michael Bradley, Mike Woitalla of Soccer America reports why Gladbach coach
Michael Frontzeck benched the American after 17 straight starts.
Arsenal scored three times in the second half for a 3-0 victory over Ipswich Town to win their
Carling Cup semi-final match up. It took Arsenal over an hour to break down Ipswich but three goals
in 16 minutes sent the Gunners to Wembley. Nicklas Bendtner opened the scoring for Arsenal in the
61st minute, Laurent Koscielny doubled the lead three minutes later and Cesc Fabregas added a goal
in the 77th.
Just days after Jermaine Jones made the move from the German Bundesliga to the English Premier
League, now comes word a U.S. teammate of Jones could be joining him in the EPL.
Sunderland is lining up a transfer bid for U.S. World Cup midfielder Michael Bradley. The Black
Cats are believed to be looking for a potential replacement for Lee Cattermole, who is battling a
back injury and is drawing transfer interest from the likes of Liverpool, and Bradley could be just
the player to solidify the midfield for Steve Bruce's side.
Of the many names linked to the Union in the recent weeks, the most recent has been that of
Marek Mintal. Mintal is a 33 year old Slovak midfield who currently plays for FC Nuremberg. He
is a former Bundesliga top scorer. I recently came across this piece in the Slovak press. I
don't speak Slovak even though I am partially Slovak.
