from it's inception in 2009, writing a total of 234 articles for us in our first year. It is

Newcastle United's decision to allow Joey Barton to leave the club on a free transfer has
alerted a host of top Premier League clubs.
Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham are said to be among the sides lining up talks with the
fiery midfielder.
Sports betting pundits note how Barton still has a year remaining on his £60,000 per week
contract, although the Newcastle board are looking for ways to reduce their hefty wage bill.
By Chris Wright
Coming about a week after Jose Enrique accused owner Mike Ashley and managing director Derek
Llambias of a lack of balls and lying about a new contract offer, Joey Barton was tweeted
his way into a transfer-listing at Newcastle.
More accurately, Barton has been made available on a free transfer, with the Toon board simply
running out of patience with his incessant need to tweet every single gripe he has with the club's
hierarchy over a summer of botched transfers and contract re-negotiations.

Newcastle United's game against Kansas City got off to a decent start last night, and was by all
accounts a good 45 minutes of football. The second-half though was a bit of a snooze-fest with the
Toon only having a Danny Simpson shot at goal for anything worth remembering.
The main talking point though was the injury to Hatem Ben Arfa.

While Jeremy is our resident NUFC supporter, he is out of pocket this week so I'm going to take
over with my thoughts on the transfer of Demba Ba from WHU to St. James' Park. Taken as a move by
itself, there is little to do other than like it a lot. NUFC is desperate for strikers and Ba was
very effective over the second half of last season at Upton Park.
This time of the year often brings exciting matches as clubs play for championships and continental
tournament spots. There's not a lot of that going on this weekend as most of the bigger leagues in
Europe have already either crowned a champion or are damned close to doing so. One notable
exception to this is the Netherlands where the Eredivisie where Sunday's battle between Ajax and
Twente in Amsterdam will determine the league's title.

Newcastle United is the third Premier League club to announce that they'll be playing a friendly
in the United States this summer (following Manchester United and Everton),
Newcastle have announced that they will conduct pre-season training at the Sporting Club
Training Center from July 17 through July 19 before playing the MLS club on July 20.
John Carver and Cheick Tiote both committed their long term future to Newcastle United as they
both signed contracts today. Tiote, who Newcastle signed from FC Twente last summer has been a
revelation in midfield alongside Kevin Nolan. Tiote goes from an £8,000 p/week deal to a £50,000
p/week deal according to the Sun (we all know how reliable they are).
Hello, good evening and welcome to the NUFC 'Blog's "match banter" for the rescheduled game against
Birmingham City at St Andrews. Despite some valiance and derring do in some of the previous games,
and still a fairly respectable mid table position, the Magpies have played six games without
winning, and will certainly be looking to [.
If you scour the Arsenal blogosphere on a daily basis the name Critic will
need no introduction. He's a passionate Desi Gooner like yours truly and has contributed the
following piece. I hope you will find it a nice change from my usual analytical ramblings.
It has been a crazy transfer month, with even crazier rumors.
Andy Who? Focus on Pardew and NUFC!
Monday was a bad day for the Geordies, it was like finding out the girl you're deeply in love
with has ran away into the arms of another man and never truly loved you anyway. It would be
impossible to sum up a collective reaction of the Toon Army to the news, as people seemed more
confused (not unusual for Newcastle fans under Ashley) than anything else.
It's official. Newcastle United have accepted a bid from Liverpool for Andy Carroll with the fee
believed to be about £35 million with add-ons. This is devastating news for Newcastle fans, just
after the Newcastle number 9 confessed his love for the club and that he wanted to stay.
The events leading up to the transfer are shrouded in mystery though.
Danny Guthrie gets chance against Tottenham - NUFC Latest News - Newcastle United - ChronicleLive
ALAN PARDEW will hand Danny Guthrie the chance to revive his season against Spurs at St James' Park
on Saturday. However, Andy Carroll and Steven Taylor are rated "extremely doubtful" with thigh and
hamstring problems.
