Ian Barker has been a star in soccer coaching education here in the United States, and yesterday
was offered the ultimate opportunity in that arena when he was selected as the Director of Coaching
Education for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
"Ian is the perfect choice to lead the NSCAA's coaching education program to new heights," said
Cummings.
A name familiar to the Minnesotan soccer community has been appointed to the top coaching position
with the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America). Ian Barker, former MYSA Director

What would the NSCAA Convention be without the added excitement (and pressure) of speaking? For
the second year in a row, my good friend and peer Ryan Knapp and I presented together. Ryan and I
met in 2009 at Tweet Blowing the Whistle on Social Media and have bantered back and forth on all
things digital and social media since.
The 2012 NSCAA Convention could once again be called: The busiest week of my life. Here's the

Fort Lewis College head men's soccer coach Oige Kennedy was named the 2011 NSCAA/MONDO National
Coach of the Year for NCAA Division II, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America

"Recognition by your peers is always special," said FLC Director of Athletics Gary Hunter.
The Chicago Fire announced that Mike Matkovich and Leo Percovich will return to the club as
Frank Klopas' assistant coaches for the 2012 season. Matkovich rejoins the Fire as an assistant
coach, having previously served in the role for the club from 2009-10. The fact that Klopas is
bringing Matkovich back on suggests that there was some kind of rift between Matkovich and former
Fire head coach Carlos de los Cobos.
I'm currently running for Secretary of the NSCAA. The election winner will be announced at the

getting closer to the event, I thought it would be good to share my answers to the 12 questions the
NSCAA asks each candidate to file.

Losing a national championship game can be as demoralizing and heartbreaking as any defeat, but
when you enjoyed a near-perfect season, there's reason to be optimistic.
That is the case for the University of Louisville, which returns many of its starters from a
2010 season during which it went without a loss until the final game of the year against Akron.
