Solo Tigres 28 October @ 05:30 PM EST

Well, the comeback was a nice one that severely hampers D.C. United's playoff hopes. Claudio's
stoppage-time PK sent the crowd here at CAB into a frenzy on Fan Appreciation Night. Check out the
notables below for more, including info on Kamara's first goal for KC and Zusi's first MLS
assist.
Notables:
• Kansas City finished the season 0-1-2 against D.

Kansas City dropped a 3-2 result to Seattle Sounders FC tonight at CAB after falling behind early
and surrendering a late lead. The Wizards had been eliminated from playoff contention earlier in
the day by other results but could have put Seattle's playoff future in question with a win. As it
turned out, Sounders FC clinched a playoff berth after a great performance from Designated Player
and #10 Freddie Ljungberg.

The same fixture last season saw Maldini and Kaka play their last home game for the Rossoneri.
David Beckham was also part of the team that day. Even with such notables Milan still lost to a
Roma side with little to play for. Milan must do alot better in this season's fixture with only a

The Wizards fell to Chivas USA 2-0 tonight, limiting our faint chances for the MLS Cup Playoffs.
With Columbus beating NE earlier in the day, we had a chance to pull within three points of the
final playoff spot but could not get three points at The Home Depot Center, something that is never
easy for the road team.

After outshooting Colorado 18-12 and controlling most of the possession, the Wizards tied the
Rapids tonight 0-0 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. Mixed results around the League in terms of our
playoff hopes, as the late NE win doesn't help, but the late Chicago tie does. Chivas has scored at
the beginning of the second half at home to NY.

It was a fun one Saturday at CAB, as a sellout crowd watched our boys fight back to win 3-2 over FC
Dallas. Hirsig and Conrad scored their first goals of the season. Hirsig's strike was his first in
MLS. Lopez recorded assists 6 and 7, moving him into a tie for 6th in MLS. Josh Wolff scored the
other goal, his 10th of the season.

That's right folks, we come away from a daunting three-game in eight-day trip to the East Coast
with six points. PV, for one, was not satisfied with the haul. He told multiple reporters after the
game that he felt we should have taken all nine. Check out the notables below, with plenty on Josh
Wolff's latest tally and Kevin Hartman's exploits.

The Wizards dropped game 2 of the East Coach roadie 1-0 tonight to D.C. United at RFK. The guys

· Kansas City is now 13-17-8 all-time against D.

Wolff gives his jersey to a fan after exiting the match.
Let this be the start of the Josh Wolff for Player of the Week campaign. Since no one else scored
two goals, I think there's a pretty good chance he'll take home the award after scoring two and
playing a part in all four of our goals tonight.

A win! Kansas City snapped the winless streak and the scoreless streak on their way to a 4-2
victory over the Revs at Gillette. It was our first four-goal game since May 26 of 2007. That also
took place here at Gillette. Lots of fun notables tonight to read through. I'm sure I also missed
some. Mike will likely fill us in on more tomorrow in his Sunday-after stats series.

We dropped another one 1-0 tonight, extending our goalless streak to 424 straight minutes. In the
process, we outshot RSL 17-5, including an 8-3 advantage in shots on goal. Chris Seitz made seven
saves, and Fabian Espindola cleared Zoltan's late header off the goal line to preserve a 1-0
victory in the 5th minute of second-half stoppage time.

Chris Wondolowski's late snap header earned San Jose all three points Saturday night in a game that
had been dominated by the goalkeepers until that point. Hartman made five saves to reach 1200
career stops. He is the first goalkeeper in MLS history to reach that mark. Cannon made seven saves
for the clean sheet.

The Wizards dropped a 2-0 result Sunday to the 2nd place Chicago Fire at CommunityAmerica Ballpark
in Peter Vermes' first game as Technical Director/Interim Head Coach. Chris Rolfe opened the
scoring in the 13th minute, with Mike Banner sealing victory in the 89th. Zoltan made his Wizards
debut in the 63rd minute, showing some nice touch and high work rate before he was shown a red card
in the 85th.

That one sure stings. Not the way we wanted post #999 at Hillcrest Road to go. Hopefully post #1000
will be a little more cheery. Well, you guys saw the result. It was 6-0 to FC Dallas. Take a look
at the notables below, and feel free to use the comment section. That's what it's there for.
Highlight of the night is that Kevin Hartman made his 100th consecutive MLS start.

Some good quotes in there from everyone. The consensus is that the crowd was unbelievable, Lopez's
shot was unbelievable and Hartman had a hell of a game.

Sorry folks for the late post, it's been a long day here at Gillette--in a great way. Though we
only earned a single road point against the Revs, the U.S. came from behind to tie Haiti and win
the group with Davy Arnaud scoring his first international goal. Then, Honduras won 4-0 over
Grenada to advance to face Canada with Roger Espinoza scoring the 2nd goal and winning the Miller
Lite Man of the Match award by media vote.

With a late-game PK (Hartman says he didn't touch Montero), Kansas City is eliminated from the 2009

Kansas City falls to Houston 1-0 on the day that Roger Espinoza and Davy Arnaud see time for their
respective national teams. Kei Kamara scored the lone goal here in front of a sellout crowd of

The first post of July comes quite late/early. Hopefully everything below makes sense, as Hillcrest
is getting pretty tired. Feel free to ridicule the late-night post if errors abound.
· Kansas City advances to the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals for the 2nd consecutive
season.
· Kansas City will play the winner of tomorrow night's match between Seattle Sounders FC and the

Kansas City's first-ever SuperLiga appearance is now over after a 3-1 loss to Santos Laguna Sunday
at sold-out CommunityAmerica Ballpark. Claudio Lopez bent a beautiful free kick over the wall and
into the right side of the goal for his 1st SuperLiga tally and his 5th of the season. We now
travel to Minnesota tomorrow for Tuesday's Open Cup match against the Minnesota Thunder.

A win and we're in, we know that. A tie and a Revs win, and we're in. After that, it gets trickier.
If we tie and Atlas ties NE, then it comes down to total goals scored (by both being 0-0-3, we'd be
even on goal differential at 0). If we're tied on total goals scored, it's a coin flip. Herc has
been causing NE a lot of problems hasn't he?

Man. It's hot. Like seriously, unbelievably hot. Maybe that's just because the press box isn't air
conditioned. But if it feels like this up here, I can't even imagine what it must have felt like
running around on the field today. We saw some good bits of soccer from both teams, an outstanding
save from Kevin Hartman and a couple of near-misses from Wizards players.

the crew, earning his first shutout in two seasons.

season, including three on the road.
