Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra will face each other on the field for the first time since the
controversial racism charges against Suarez when Manchester United and Liverpool renew their
rivalry in today's marquee match-up.
Suarez will be key to the Reds chances of knocking off Manchester United in a vital match-up for
both teams.

Liverpool must be getting tired of Manchester.
Kenny Dalglish and Co. face off against a Manchester side for the seventh time this season when
United and Liverpool clash in a match full of significance. Manchester United are trying to survive
a brutal run of fixtures and keep pace with their cross-town rivals.
Our latest guest post comes from Adam Orton, one half of Debra Orton Illustration - bloggers and
sellers of limited edition football print artwork and proud Highbury residents. It may surprise
watchers of Match of the Day that Norwich City's current successes are far from a novelty in the
history of the club and here, Adam takes an entertaining look back to a previous occasion when the
Norfolk club ascended out of Hades.

Landon Donovan's time with Everton is nearing its end and while he may want to make an impact in
all of his remaning games with the club, this weekend's match might be at the top of his list.
Everton are set to face Chelsea in a match that will pit Donovan against the likes of John
Terry, Juan Mata and Florent Malouda.

Saturday, a victory which condemned the visiting Trotters to another spell in the relegation
zone.
Manchester City moved three points clear at the top of the Premier League thanks to a convincing
3-0 win at home over Fulham.
Heading into the Fulham match a lot of questions were being asked about a City side that had
lost four of their eight matches in 2012, exiting the FA and League Cups and seeing Manchester
United draw level with them on points at the top of the Premier League.
Sporting Kansas City's quest to repeat as Eastern Conference regular season champions began
today with a 2-1 pre-season victory against the San Jose Earthquakes in the pre-season opener for
both clubs.
Kansas City midfielder Konrad Warzycha delivered the game-winning goal, converting a free kick
to break a 1-1 deadlock.
Not too long ago, Chelsea and Manchester United were fighting each other for league titles and
UEFA Champions League superiority. Now, the Blues are just hoping to chip away at a 12-point table
deficit that keeps mounting by the week.
The two English giants battle Sunday at Stamford Bridge in a nationally televised game on the
Fox network, with United looking to maintain its place atop the league while dealing perhaps the
final blow to Chelsea's faint title hopes and forcing the club into a fight for a place in Europe
next season.
Frigid temperatures and snowstorms across Europe are starting to take their toll on the soccer
schedule.
Saturday's anticipated match between Roma and Inter Milan has already been postponed because of
snow blanketing Rome. The Cesena-Catania match has also been called off, and that is in addition to
four midweek Serie A games having to be rescheduled because of the snow.

The winter transfer window closed this past Tuesday, and a pair of Americans who secured moves
during it will be looking to make their debuts this weekend.
George John and Robbie Rogers could make their first appearances abroad for West Ham United and
Leeds United, respectively, as the Championship gets back into a full weekend swing.

Newcastle United are up to fifth in the Premier League after they beat Blackburn Rovers 2-0,
while Arsenal's poor run of form continues as they were held 0-0 at Bolton.
Newcastle took a 12th-minute lead when Blackburn's Scott Dann deflected a 25-yard shot from Ryan
Taylor past stranded Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson.

Geylang is perhaps the most down to earth place in Singapore. It's where people cross the road
before the light turns red, cyclists brush pedestrians aside on the footpath and the hookers
brazenly display their ways along the lorongs and in the coffee shops.
Into this world have come two former Arsenal trainees, Oliver Nicholas and Rhema Obed who have hit
the east after failing to make the grade in England.

Chelsea is looking for a better second half of the season in the Premiership, and it is hoping
the signing of an attacking midfielder will help them do that.
Chelsea is set to sign Kevin De Bruyne from Belgian club RC Genk on a five-year deal.
Back down to Earth for Liverpool, as they travel to the West Midlands to face 19th-place
Wolverhampton. It's a stark contrast from the action of the past week, facing opposition at the
bottom of the table, away from Anfield, and with nothing immediately at stake. And if you've paid
attention to Liverpool at all this season, it's cause for concern, with form against the mid- and
lower-table sides worlds apart from the displays we've seen the last two times out.

It looked to be another long afternoon at the Emirates after Arsenal found themselves down two
to Aston Villa at halftime and on the verge of going out of the FA Cup. Relief came quickly,
however, as the Gunners scored three goals within 10 minutes to move on to the fifth round.
When asked about possible transfers before tomorrow's deadline day, Spurs manager Harry Redknapp
was typically vague,
"I can't see an awful lot happening," Harry said.
"I will probably watch a game on Sunday but not with a real eye on anyone, although I'm not
going to tell you which match.
It wasn't exactly Premiership action over the weekend but it was still a
FA Cup Party out there, nonetheless! Arsenal, of course, deserve a round
of applause for springing back from two goals down to make it 3-2 against Aston
Villa yesterday.
Goals from Daniel Agger and Dirk Kuyt saw Liverpool get revenge for last season's FA Cup at Old
Trafford as they beat Manchester United 2-1 at Anfield. Elsewhere Chelsea beat QPR and Newcastle
were shocked by Brighton.
While the clash at Anfield got all the headlines this week, the biggest story took place on the
coast as Brighton boss Gus Poyet once again haunted Newcastle in the FA Cup.

Zak Whitbread and Norwich City look to continue in the FA Cup as they take on West Bromwich Albion,
while Jonathan Spector and red hot Birmingham City play Sheffield United in cup play as well.
Norwich City have completed the signing of Jonny Howson from Leeds United. A fee was agreed last
week, but the Canaries have now confirmed the transfer after the midfielder completed his medical
at Carrow Road.
Those who assess in play betting strategy note how the signing is one of many Norwich have made
from outside of the Premier League as they build a strong squad to continue the success Paul
Lambert has already brought to the club.
The modern football fan has access to statistics that would have seemed unthinkable only five or
six years ago. Sites such as the marvellous whoscored.com offer the casual fan a site from which
they can drag figures to prove or disprove their assertions on their side. Are we missing a lot of
chances?
Championship side Leeds United have accepted a bid from Norwich City for their club captain Jonny
Howson.
The midfielder, who is out of contract in the summer, is a product of the Leeds academy and has
made 225 for the club. The Leeds skipper is currently on the sidelines through injury, but it is
thought he will open contract talks with the Canaries this week.

Those who woke up early on Sunday morning were treated to one of the best Premier League games
of the season.
Manchester City used a last-minute penalty from Mario Balotelli to beat Tottenham 3-2 and go six
points clear at the top of the table.
We have noted before on this site that football supporters can be considerably more patient
than we are ever given credit for. Indeed, some might even say that we are too patient. In recent
years, we have put up with increasing ticket prices, the desecration of the atmosphere inside
grounds and policing methods that would raise an eyebrow were they to be practiced in a
totalitarian state.
This doesn't sound too promising. While the rest of the boys headed off to Spain after the
disappointing draw with Norwich City, Frank Lampard remained behind. Poor guy.
He instead headed back to London in order to undergo scans on what is suspected to be a torn
calf muscle. You may recall him being removed after only 37 minutes at Carrow Road.
Chelsea once again failed to maintain any consistency in their performance as they only managed
a draw against Norwich City, despite controlling the match and created more chances especially in
the second half but their inability to finish off their chances cost them two points.
The club's ineffectiveness in front of goal once again being noted by the Blues' manager, Andre
Villas-Boas, as the cause of their current inability to stay close with the top three teams in the
league.

Newcastle's hopes of taking advantage of Chelsea's draw at Norwich were stopped by a five-goal
second-half blitz from Fulham as they lost 5-2 at Fulham.
Fulham were poor in the first-hald and it was no surprise that Newcastle scored first thanks to
a Danny Guthrie thunderbolt from outside the area.
szólj hozzá: Fulham v Newcastle 5:2 GOALS
Clint Dempsey's 50th, 51st, and 52nd goal for Fulham lifted the Cottagers over Newcastle.
The first half was all Newcastle and just before halftime they went ahead through Danny
Guthrie's superlative left footed strike. Martin Jol must have mixed chili powder in his half time
pep talk as he effected two very important changes, taking Bryan Ruiz from central midfield,
bringing on Chris Baird, and introducing Andy Johnson as Fulham turned the game a 180 degrees in
the second half
The former Crystal Palace man made an immediate impact troubling the Newcastle defense with his
zip.
