As the last line of defence for struggling Norwich City, John Ruddy has had to be at his best to keep out some of the best strikers in the Premier League. He has, however, still had the misfortune of conceding the two goals of the season, an audacious forty-yard volley by Luis Suarez and a "ridiculous" team goal finished by Jack Wilshere.
In a sign of pure panic, Norwich City have sacked Chris Hughton and his backroom staff with just five games left in the season. The Canaries announced their youth coach Neil Adams, who guided the young Canaries to FA Youth Cup glory last year, has been named first-team manager.
After losing 1-0 ay home to West Brom at the weekend, Norwich have a five-point lead over third from bottom Fulham, who they pay this weekend.
Norwich City have sacked manager Chris Hughton with immediate effect.
The Canaries announced today that Hughton and coaches Colin Calderwood and Paul Trollope have been sacked, and that Neil Adams has been appointed as first team manager.
A statement from the club explained why they made the decision:
"The Norwich City Board has taken the decision to give the Club the maximum chance to secure the points required between now and the end of the season to ensure retention of our Barclays Premier League status.
The arrival of spring means many things to people. The days get longer, snow melts as the sun shines again after it's wintery absence, flowers begin to bloom, and the English Premier League enters the business end of the season. It is in this final stretch where legends are made and unforgettable moments occur.
The problem with world soccer games is that there are often times where there are too many excellent matches on at the same time. Which one(s) should we watch?
Today's a perfect example as there are four key matches on at the same time — the Madrid derby, Tottenham Hotspur versus Cardiff, the relegation battle between Swansea and Crystal Palace and, last but not least, Aston Villa versus Norwich City.
Arsenal: Was the Rosicky goal vs Sunderland better than Wilshere's effort? - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Arsenal's 4-1 win over struggling Sunderland at the Emirates on Saturday kept the Gunners within touching distance of Premier League leaders Chelsea, with Tomas Rosicky's fine effort the pick of the goals.
The fracas that saw both Loic Remy and Bradley Johnson sent off in the game at Norwich City, has resulted in both clubs being fined, because they failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behavior. That's FA language for saying both sets of players just lost it.
Both Sammy Ameobi and Hatem Ben Arfa are included in the starting line-up at Norwich City tonight. Sammy Ameobi gets start at Norwich Newcastle will line up in a 4-3-3 formation with Ben Arfa, Remy and Sammy Ameobi the front three, and there's no Yoan Gouffran in the squad so we assume he's [...]

The 2013 January transfer window has opened and closes on January 31 in England, while the window stays open through Febuary 2 in Spain, France, Germany and Italy.
With this season being one of the tightest Premier League races in years — for the clubs near the top of the table, and the bottom half of the table, expect there to be a lot of activity in this transfer window as clubs aim to improve or solidify their positions.
Chris Hughton is by all accounts one of the nicest men in English football. His demeanor and actions as a gentleman have made neutrals like I root for his sides whenever the clubs we support are not playing against a team he manages. As a fan of his, I was very excited by the signings made this summer by Norwich — players who seemingly could transform the Canaries into contenders for a European place.

Here's hoping you all had an at least above-average Christmas Day this year. Rather than do individual reports for each Premier League game on Boxing Day, I've decided on a smorgasbord of the best photos of the day, mainly due to laziness!
Following the sacking of Canaries boss Chris Hughton we look at who might replace him and become the new Norwich manager. 1. By way of an apology for their performance/mark of their appreciation (delete as you see fit), the Norwich City squad have announced that they are clubbing together to reimburse the Canaries fans who travelled to Wales only to watch their side go down 3-0 to Swansea on Saturday.
Confusing I know, and I realise that if the attention wanders for a day or two one loses track completely, but just so everyone is clear – this week the dial is being flicked over to "CRISIS".
Not that that seemed to register with our heroes. Bless them, they had to play twice this week don't you know, and chug through passport control and squat into their Easyjet seats and whatnot, so it was unsurprising that a few of them looked like they were just biding time until they received a leg massage.
