You know why I feel sorry for Mexico? Because they have to play Bafana Bafana in the opening match
of the 2010 World Cup in a 94k capacity stadium that will be filled to brim with these nutters.
South Africa's footie fans are a beautiful breed of passionate zealots; rocking a look that is
part-voodoo shaman, part-walking junkyard (and for the one Orlando Pirates fan in this clip,
part-Big Worm from Friday perm) these dudes are possibly the most down football fans on earth,
regardless of what Simon Kuper may tell you about the Norwegians.

Back when I were but knee-high t' grasshopper I remember reading about a Rosenborg haters club.
The then Norwegian champions were in the heady midst of a run of 13 consecutive titles at the time,
which pissed someone off enough to set up a crack squad of devoted hate mongers. This troupe of
assorted Nordic loons, dressed in specially-made kit which I seem to recall as pink, followed
Rosenborg wherever they played and cheered for the opposing team.

19-year-old Norwegian starlet Jo Inge Berget is contracted to Udinese Calcio, but would rather
be anywhere else than in Udine.
After a loan spell at his home club in Norway, the striker was expected by Norwegian media to
get a call-up to the senior national team in November, alongside players such as Aston Villas John
Carew and Le Mans Club's Thorstein Helstad.

Alright so the last game broke our streak of victories. Here is what i took away from the match.
IT WAS A PRESEASON GAME! I think that alot is being made of the 2-0 by alot of people. Ive read
valencia was bad.. we didnt have as many chances yadda yadda. I think we have some disgruntled VCF
fans that may not understand what the preseason is for.

Matthew Booth
You don't run into a lot of Irish folks in Africa. Lots of Canadians, Norwegians, Japanese,
and Australians but very few Irish. Maybe that helps to explain why Sport Against Racism Ireland
was among the groups who, during June's Confederations Cup in South Africa, were quick to assume
that predominantly black crowds were booing the lone white player on the South African national
team Matthew Booth.

This recent bout of hot weather has made Norwegians hit the beaches like dyslexic gangsta
rappers, but like busses in the Stavanger-area the Tippeliga waits for no one, and so here is a
quick roundup of the latest batch of games from the top tier of Norwegian football.
By now you really must be getting tired of reading this phrase, but it continues to be the case
and we're too hot to figure out a more clever way of wording it: Unless Rosenborg
sell their entire midfield in the summer, they'll win the league.

Holland 2 - 0 Norway
The Norwegians needed a miracle, but it seems the Big G was otherwise engaged tonight (possibly
giving New Zealand a hand?). In the end the game was as one-sided as you'd expect a clash between
the team ranked 2nd in the FIFA-rankings and the team ranked 47th. The Dutch ran the show from
start to finish, but only in patches did they overrun Norway, mostly due to tireless work from the
Norwegian midfield and for Holland the lack of urgency that comes with the knowledge that nothing's
really at stake.

Norway 0 - 0 Macedonia
Â
"It will be boring as shit for the first hour," predicted Drillo ahead of the game and well, he
wasn't wrong. Unfortunately his other prediction that it could get more interesting after that
first hour proved wide of the mark. That's not entirely true actually - as Macedonia started
throwing bodies forward the game was upgraded from "life-threateningly dull" to just "very
dull".

The Scottish domestic season might be over, but the qualification campaign for World Cup 2010
goes on. Scotland are not action until August - a home game against Norway - but on the 6th and
10th June, Scotland's fellow Group 9 hopefuls will be wanting to edge a few points closer to making

The Norwegians are not taking this too kindly.
Today, Drogba's apology was posted on the Chelsea website.
"I was very upset at what happened during the game, but having seen the pictures on TV I accept
that I overreacted."
Good for him.
Ovrebo had to be smuggled out of England, switching hotels.

Here we go again, another Scandinavian referee is learning the hard way what happens when you
don't give Chelsea what they want. That famous sporting behavior and sense of fair play associated
with English football was yet again on display last night as Chelsea's players stood up and took
their elimination from the Champions League like men.

Aalesund (5th) - Molde (2nd)
One of the fiercest rivalries in the league, this encounter has been given some extra gloss
because of the fact that both teams are riding uncharacteristically high in the table.

A tip off from Egan: Roy's in Norway. Couple of suggestions there about who he's watching.Â
I'd extract the whole piece but I don't think that's the done thing, so please do head over and
have a read. Per Ciljan Skjelbred and Marek Sapara are the names you need to know though, and
both sound interesting.

Fulham manager Roy Hodgson was spotted watching a match between Lillestrøm and Rosenborg in the
Norwegian Tippeliga this Sunday evening. The former Viking and Finland gaffer already has two
Norwegians on his books, and could well be looking to spend a chuck of his summer transfer-kitty in
the Norwegian market.

South Afrcia 2 - 1 Norway (goals) Siphiwe Tshabalala's superb last-minute winner gave South Africa
a thoroughly deserved win over Norway, after Morten Gamst Pedersen's deflected free-kick equalized
Bernard Parker's opening goal. Even the most nationalistic of Norwegians would have to admit that
the South Africans were well worth their win, having been quicker, sharper and having [.
