Liverpool v Tottenham: The Fab Four and Beyond.
This Monday Totteham Hotspur faces Liverpool at Anfield in a clash that is set to have far
reaching effects across the top of the Premier League.
Arsenal legend Alan Smith has criticised current manager Arsene Wenger's recruitment policy,
which he believes could cost the Gunners a UEFA Champions League spot at the end of the season. The
retired striker, who has now turned to commentating, also believes that Wenger should have pursued
central defender Gary Cahill more aggressively before he was signed by their London rivals Chelsea
earlier this month.
The African Cup of Nations is underway, but does it feel like we are missing a few people? -
originally posted on Soccerlens.com
The 2012 African Cup of Nations kicked off on Saturday, with co-hosts and debutants Equatorial
Guinea getting a last-gasp, dramatic 1-0 win over Libya. The likes of Didier Drogba, Yaya Toure and
Demba Ba are chomping at the bit to showcase the quality of football in the African continent, but
this year's edition has a number of recognisable absentees.

EPL
Amazing news from the EPL this weekend, with Arsenal losing 3-2 to Swansea and manager Arsene
Wenger taking the unprecedented step of blaming the referee.
After training with Premier League Arsenal during the MLS off-season, Henry signed a two-month loan
deal with the North London club and made his debut against Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium in
the FA Cup third round. He showed why he is considered an all-time great with a trademark finish
just minutes after his introduction.

Arsenal are set to mark their 125th anniversary by unveiling statues of club heroes Thierry
Henry, Tony Adams and Herbert Chapman today. The North London club have an amazing history that has
seen them relegated only once in their entire history. It isn't any wonder why then they are one of
the most supported clubs in the world.
The Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has never been known to spend huge amounts on players but with
this season starting in worrying fashion, Gunners fans have piled on the pressure for him to open
his chequebook in January to ensure that the promising revival will continue until May. The North
London club has been linked [.
Fulham v Tottenham: A Familiar Face Awaits Spurs - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Tottenham Hotspur travel across Londonto face Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday,
but the Cottagers are not the only familiar face they will encounter. Former boss Martin Jol, faces
the task of trying to keep Harry Redknapp's free flowing Spurs team in check.
Tottenham have more immediate concerns than the Europa League. Their manager Harry Redknapp's
health, usurping Arsenal and Chelsea as the top team in London and qualifying for next season's
Champions League. Why, though, is the Europa League so far down their list of priorities?
Having stumbled to a victory against Rubin Kazan at White Hart Lane, despite resting the
majority of their first team players and consequently playing poorly, Tottenham decided to rest
even more players for the away fixture against Rubin Kazan.
Foreign owners discuss end to relegation, says League Managers chief
• Americans 'looking at having more of a franchise situation' • Aston Villa surprised and
confused by Richard Bevan remarks The chief executive of the League Managers Association has warned

Venue: St James' Park, Newcastle. Date: Sunday, October 16th, 2011. Kick-off: 4:00pm. Referee: Lee
Probert. TV:Sky Sports 1 / HD. Hello, good afternoon and welcome to our regular "match banter"
feature. Today sees the Magpies facing a testing home fixture against Harry Redknapp's stylish and
dangerous North London club, Tottenham Hotspur, who are hot on [.
This season Harry Redknapp seems to have his first squad at Tottenham Hotspur that he is
completely happy with. With the Europa League campaign potentially hindering our chances of
grasping a spot in the top four of the Premier League, depth in key positions is vital. The
signings of Brad Friedel, Scott Parker and Emmanuel Adebayor have massively boosted our chances in
repeating the feat of reaching the Champions League group stages as we did in 2009/2010.
Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit has spelled out an ominous warning to Arsene Wenger and Arsenal
football club by predicting that the North London club will be finished if they continue to sell
their top players Arsenal sold captain Cesc Fabregas and later playmaker Samir Nasri in the summer
to Barcelona and Manchester City respectively.
Luca Modric is set to become Tottenham's highest earning player if he puts pen to paper in a new
and improved contract that will see him stay at White Hart Lane until 2017.
Word doing the rounds claim that Tottenham are willing to make the Croat an offer he simply
cannot refuse. According to Spurs chairman, Daniel Levy, the club opened talks with Modric two
weeks ago to try and entice the 26 year old to remain at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor has vowed to never celebrate scoring a goal against
former club Arsenal and has apologized to the Gunners for running the length of the entire field to
celebrate his first strike against them as a Manchester City player two years ago.
Adebayor rose to prominence during his time at Arsenal but his departure from the club in 2009
created bitterness between the player and the North London club, particularly after he stamped on
the face of former teammate Robin van Persie just minutes after the infamous aforementioned
celebration.

15 years ago today a rather studious-looking (and relatively unknown) Frenchman took over at
Arsenal. The rest is, indeed, history and while the latest chapter in Arsene wenger's Arsenal story
may not be the easiest to read for either him or the fans of the north London club, it is fair to
say that he has more than made his mark on English football.

Arsenal's billionaire owner Stan Kroenke has finally spoke out on the current situation
surrounding the north London club.
The American entrepreneur and serial owner of sports teams (including MLS side Colorado Rapids)
has rarely been seen or heard, something which has worried Gooners.
The former Arsenal captain Frank McLintock is a veteran of over 400 games for the North London
club, and was one of the leading players (and captain) of his time back in the late 60′s and
earlier 70′s. Today he has been speaking about his former club and he thinks that this is the

Carlo Ancelotti has been pinpointed as a potential replacement for underfire Arsenal boss Arsene
Wenger. According to The Sweeper, the North London club are closely monitoring Ancelotti's
situation and are weighing up a possible deal which will bring the Italian to the Emirates Stadium
as early as January 2012.
After Blackburn supporters called for his head during a protest prior to kick-off at Ewood Park,
Steve Kean enjoyed a quite unexpected renaissance as Arsene Wenger's season found new depths with a
4-3 loss for Arsenal.
The Gunners looked in firm control after a first half that saw Gervinho and Mikel Arteta
open their accounts for the club, even taking into account a debut goal from Yakubu as he took
advantage of some characteristically slack defending from the visitors.

Wolverhampton Wanderers. Having yet to collect a single point Harry Redknapp's team must get their

According to The Mirror, Jack Wilshere may not kick a ball in anger for Arsenal
until December. The young England schemer has yet to play a competitive game for the Gunners this
season after injuring himself in pre-season and is currently forced to wear a surgical boot.
Jack Wilshere reckons Arsenal must win a trophy this season to prove they are the next best
thing to Champions League winners Barcelona. Gunners midfielder reckons it is "unthinkable" that
Arsene Wenger's outfit don't finish in the Premier League top four despite a torrid start to the
campaign.
Transfer Window Helps Tottenham to Mature - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
The transfer window closed with Tottenham Hotspur making only two significant deals, but
perhaps the North London club has finally grown up.
The signings of Emmanuel Adebayor and Scott Parker, address issues within the Spurs line up, but
left the fans with a deep sense of anti climax.
With the current turmoil at The Emirates Arsenal fans could be forgiven for forgetting that the
start of the Champions League Group stage is just around the corner but with more pressing issues
at hand, particularly in the Premier League where the Gunners have picked up just one point from
their first three league games, including the humiliating 8-2 defeat at the hands of Manchester
United Arsenal's season could be over before it's even begun and last week's Champions League
draw wasn't overly kind to the North London club either.
By Ulysse Pasquier, writing from Montreal
Football clubs do enjoy their deadline drama it seems. These last couple of days have been so
hectic it has become difficult to keep track of my Twitter feed every single deal, and the transfer
window is not even closed yet!
Picking Napoli to finish fourth, a spot behind last year's finish, is certainly not a popular
prediction. Most fans of Serie A fell madly in love with their attractive attacking style last
season, and would be happy to see them win their first major trophy in over two decades. But
despite the excitement surrounding this terrifically talented team, I still see them dropping a
place in the table this year and thus missing the Champions League next season.
With Scotland's capital hosting the world to the delights of the Edinburgh Festival, Tottenham
were treating the people of Tynecastle to a festival of football, not seen in these parts for a
long, long time.
Before the game, Harry Redknapp had said he expected a hostile atmosphere and a tough game.
Multiple sources confirm that Republic of Ireland star Robbie Keane is on his way to Los Angeles
where he will undergo a physical ahead of signing a two-year, $8 million contract with the LA
Galaxy
Keane is currently under contract to Tottenham Hotspur of the Barclays Premier League, where has
has played since January 2009 (his second stint with the North London club).
Why Spurs' inactivity this summer could cost them - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Harry Redknapp and shrewd transfer usually go hand in hand, the cheaper the better. However this
summer has been a period of austerity at Tottenham and that, excuse the pun, could cost them this
season.
While many clubs are undergoing some degree of financial conservatism this summer, they are the
sides that finished below Tottenham.

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas will take no part in the Emirates Cup Telegraph.
News from The Emirates Stdium reveals that Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger has ruled out
Cesc Fabregas's participation in an upcoming pre-season tournament, The Emirates Cup, a yearly
event held at the home of the North London club.

Stevenage 0-1 Arsenal | Aneke 51
Pre-Season Friendly | Broadhall Way
A Chuks Aneke goal was enough to give a young Arsenal side victory in what was a tight affair in
Hertfordshire. Arsenal may have used the game to give their youngsters a run out against an
experienced League side, but for Boro, the game acted as another step towards getting to tip-top
condition ahead of the Exeter game, just two weeks away on August 6th.
Daniel Levy was described by former Tottenham chairman and star of The Apprentice Alan
Sugar, as the toughest negotiator he has ever dealt with, after ENIC Group, an investment company
chaired by Levy, took over the club in 2001. However, it is vital that Levy eschews from entering
negotiations with any club regarding Luka Modric after categorically stating the player is not for
sale, at any price.
West Ham United plan to sue the Sunday Times and Tottenham over allegations of corruption during
their successful bid to take over the Olympic stadium. The club were awarded the right to move to
the new stadium after the 2012 games, beating Tottenham in the process. A report in today's The
Sunday Times claimed that secret payments had been made to an executive on the Olympic Park Legacy
Company (OPLC), the body which unanimously made the decision, during the selection process.
Liverpool manager Kenny Daliglish will have been put on red alert after the latest comments to come
out of the Emirates with regards to the future of left-back Gail Clichy, who is also being chased
by Manchester City.
Clichy is Arsenal's longest serving player having joined the north London club in 2003, he has won
one Premier League and an FA Cup during his eight year stint at the Emirates.
