So what does it take to be nominated to play for the German national team? Well you have to be a
German citizen of course and identify strongly with Germany for sure, but are there secrets to
being consistently nominated or to get that crucial first nomination? Recently Aaron Hunt,

For those of you out there wondering what exactly "dookie rope" is or isn't, please allow me to
clarify. This is not a dookie rope, it is just a common chain painted gold. This on the other hand
is a classic dookie rope chain. Note the tell-tale twisted flow of the rope; so gangsta.
Now, about that award then.

MARKHAM - What makes a Most Valuable Player?
Is it the stats they put up? Is it their never ending drive? Is it their will to succeed? Or their
ability to lead?
Some say its all these things.
On this team, there are plenty of team players and leaders who have led on and off the field.

A loss is pretty much what we expected on the road in Honduras, but it's disappointing all the same
because it could have been so much more. And we're once again reminded of 2008. If you're
unfortunate enough to recall the 2008 Champions' Cup and Superliga, you'll remember that DC United
looked to be of fairly equal caliber to most of their opponents, but ultimately flunked out of the
tournaments due to several individual mistakes and unlucky breaks.

MARKHAM - It seems sombody's been watching the Confederations Cup Tournament a little closely; and
his name is Steve Ward.
Longtime Pistola Steve Ward had a breakthrough season in the goals department last year, only
moments after buying a new set of cleats (ironically, those goals came on headers).

Kevin Hartman was voted the save of the week. It was a beautiful save of a beautiful shot by former
Wizard Chris Klein. While the save was truly the best save in my opinion for last week, it is just

their guys even when it is really undeserved.

Steven Gerrard had barely had time to digest the news that he had been named Footballer of the Year
before some critics had started questioning the Liverpool captain's right to the award.
Just like an A-level student who has just got a string of A grades only for the usual parade of
mealy mouthed media mouthpieces to take the wind out of their sails by claiming exams ain't what
they used to be, Gerrard discovered that success in this country may well have a thousand fathers
it also has many more naysayers.

"I won? You're kidding!"
"Just smile for the cameras, Ryan."
"Er, OK."Yes folks, Ryan Giggs has won the PFA Player of the Year award for the 2008/09 season. It's the
first time Giggs has won the award, and, at 35 years old, it will almost certainly be the last.

With all the players that have come in to the City of Manchester stadium the time may come this
summer when the board look to recoup some of their money.
Having spent in the region of £100m on transfers since the much publicised take over many fans

Richie Jones is back (again), and this time he's being border-line reasonable...
I write this in fevered anticipation of the second leg of the Champions League tie between (my
beloved, free-scoring, incomparable) Liverpool, and (the equally free-scoring, but somehow managing
to concede three to Bolton) Chelsea.
