Another week of Sporting KC Wizards updates. As mentioned yesterday, 8 former players are up for
the US Soccer Hall of Fame. Coming up soon, Stephane Auvray will figure out his new team in India
when the new premier league holds it draft for "lesser known" and Indian players. Also, Neal Kitson
is on the move, joining Northampton Town of the Football League 2.
A day late due to the Comets game last night, but here is this week's former SKC Wizards update. In
news this week, Shavar Thomas has a new team, having signed for the expansion Montreal Impact.

Continuing the stat updating for you tonight, it's time to update the 10,000 minute club.
In league play one new player joined the 10,000 minute club, as Michael Harrington became the 12th
player for Kansas City, Davy Arnaud also jumped up 1 spot on the list moving ahead of Jimmy Conrad.
An incredibly quiet week in former SKC Wizards news with the Christmas season in full affect. But

A day late on the former SKC Wizards update, but being a day late has given me a little extra news
to post. Word on the Twitter account for Mexican club, Puebla FC is that they are signing former
Wizards player, Eddie Johnson. Johnson would join the brother of another Wizard, as DaMarcus
Beasley also plays for Puebla FC.
Another new stat for you today regarding Sporting KC. And it's another single season stat. Here's a
list of the top ten single season appearances and starts.

history. As I mentioned a few times late in the year this year, Matt Besler ended up tied for the
3rd most minutes played in league play in team history.

So one of the longest careers in Sporting Kansas City Wizards history ended today with Davy Arnaud
being traded from Sporting Kansas City to the Montreal Impact for Seth Sinovic and allocation
money. I've never been good at eloquently writing down how good a player was for this team or how
much I'll miss seeing them in a Kansas City jersey.

Stephane Auvray - New York - Came off the bench and played 74 minutes in New York's 2-1 loss to LA.
Well as I said earlier, that was gutting, but here are some stats from the game, including a couple
nice marks being hit.
The loss was KC's first home playoff loss since 1997, the team had gone unbeaten for 12 games since
their 3-0 home loss to Colorado.
CJ Sapong tied a team record for appearances in a season with 40.
Nick Garcia when he was training with Sporting KC Earlier in the week on Callum Williams radio show
on 610 I mentioned that Nick Garcia was no longer with the team. Manager Peter Vermes had confirmed
that he was not with the team and had said there was "no mechanism for bringing him onto the team".
I understood that to mean that with Garcia's veteran status and the required salary and contract

It's finally here, it's the day of the opener. For those of you that are like me and have to work,
or those of you going out to tailgate and you need something to listen to, this week's From the
Byline to the Back Post is out. We discuss Nick Garcia and Kei Kamara news as well as the Toronto,

Today posted on the Star that it looks like Nick Garcia is going to be training with the team. It
sounds like it's not quite a trial, but not quite just training either. And with the way that the
center defense has played at times this season, one might think this is a good move to sign for the
former Wizards player.

The own goal was the third own goal for KC against LA in their history, that's tied for the most
own goals that have gone in KC's favor. New England also has given up 3 own goals against KC.
In the 5th minute, Teal Bunbury passed his dad, Alex Bunbury, for league minutes played for KC,
Bunbury finished the game with 1924 minutes played.
Here are some stats from last night's game. Lots of positions being tied by Davy Arnaud and Michael
Harrington.
Davy Arnaud made his 254th appearance in all competitions for KC, tying him with Preki for 3rd
place on that list.
It was also Arnaud's 224th league game, tying him with Nick Garcia for 2nd place on that list.

2011 is a year of new beginnings for Toronto FC.
An 11th-placed finish in last year's campaign fell wildly short of both fan and ownership
expectations, resulting in the ousting of head coach Preki and director of soccer Mo Johnston.
Under the advisement of former German national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann, Toronto hired Ajax
assistant Aron Winter head coach and brought Paul Mariner back to the MLS as director of player
development following his unsucessful stint as manager of Plymouth North End.

Continuing to update my offseason stat information here on the blog. This time I'm updating the
10,000 minute club for the Wizards/Sporting KC. For league minutes, there was a new player added to
the list, as Josh Wolff hit the 10,000 minute mark in league play, becoming the 11th Wizards player
to hit that mark.
Former Wizards defender, Uche Okafor was found dead in his home on Thursday morning. The death is
currently being investigated as a suicide as Okafor was found hanged in his home. A sad end to see
for a player who was the anchor on the back line for the Wiz/Wizards with Sean Bowers in their
first few years of existence.
