Usually I'm hoping for news about TFC anytime. Such is my luck that it ends up being bad news.
It seems that Adrian Cann, our 30 year old Canadian centreback that joined TFC just last year, has
left training camp in South Carolina and headed back to Toronto. He has rejected a new contract
offer and is, I'm assuming, still in negotiations with respect to his contract.
Ridge Mahoney of Soccer America writes of the task at hand for new MLS coaches-
Asking which of the new coaches hired by MLS teams in the past few months will get off to the
quickest start or last the longest really aren't the most pertinent questions regarding the futures
of Robin Fraser, Aron Winter and Ben Olsen.
Del Boy's got loads of TFC clobber back there! Lovely Jubbly!
There are so many glaring differences between the 2011 TFC training camp and those that were
held under the old regime. The current "Oranje Revolution" management are open with information,
invite seemingly qualified trialists to camp and schedule challenging friendlies.
Welcome back one and all to Major Link Soccer. The weekend was relatively quiet with most MLS
teams focusing on preseason training. The Sounders continue the preseason training in Arizona this
week. Outside of the team going to Arizona the big news of the weekend was SAH hitting 1 million
page views.

Benjamin Massey of Goal.com writes about another European influence arriving in Toronto, and
another opportunity for Canadian coaches falling by the wayside.
After the sacking of Preki, they appointed Canadian assistant Nick Dasovic as interim head coach.
The next chapter in Toronto FC's short but eventful history started Thursday, with the naming of
the club's new management team.
Former Dutch international Aron Winter joins the Reds as the technical director and head coach,
and longtime New England Revolution assistant Paul Mariner will serve as the director of player
personnel.

Well, 3 out of 4 ain't bad!
When MLSE VP Tom Anselmi opened today's important press conference with an admission that the
club had been "going in the wrong direction" it was hard not to point the finger squarely at the
man himself. For four years under Anselmi and MLSE's direction, TFC was allowed to flounder, mostly
at the hands of Mo Johnston, and on this site as in many other places, the ownership was rightfully
criticized.

Bob de Klerk, who worked with Winter in the Ajax Amsterdam academy system, will be the team's
top assistant coach.
Aron Winter. Get used to hearing that name. By all reports out of Toronto and Amsterdam this
gentleman, currently an Assistant Coach with famous Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam, is about to be
appointed Technical Director of Toronto FC. There will be a presser later this week sources tell me
when he, along with Paul Mariner and Ajax youth academy coach Bob de Klerk, will be announces as
the new Triumvirate in charge.
Finally some good news for Toronto FC! Former Dutch midfielder Aron Winter is
set to be hired by TFC, as is former Revs coach Paul Mariner.
Aron Winter played for Ajax, Lazio, and Inter as well as the National Team for
the Netherlands.
