£20,000 fine. Four match ban. Two of them being suspended ones.
Also, he has to give up his car, and his house for a year. Go to an island, and survive for a
month along with other famous British celebrities. He is banned from drinking wine for the rest of
his life. And will have to listen to Alan Shearer's rendition of Baa Baa Black Sheep for five
hours.

Owen Hargreaves seems quite keen on making his return to the United first team desperate, even,
but in a good way so much that he thinks he'll probably pass out when he returns.
"It will be an amazing feeling to run out at Old Trafford again. I'll be so excited I'll
probably pass out.

Women's hospital.
According to the spokesman, "Mother and baby are both absolutely fine. Wayne and Coleen are

Defeats to Liverpool makes me sick. But looking forward to exciting young talents making their
first team debuts helps lift the gloom. The official site reports Gabriel Obertan is expected to
start on the left wing against Barnsley tomorrow.
Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed to ManUtd.com on Monday, "He'll play tomorrow against Barnsley, it's
a good start for him.

The Guardian has an interesting piece on a forgotten tale involving United players, 100
years ago. Here's an extract:
The first meeting of the Association Football Players Union in 1907 was chaired by United
player Billy Meredith – the "Welsh Wizard", who was one of the first footballing
superstars.

It's been what, two weeks now since the Sunderland game? In the intervening period we had an
international break, during which tortoises completed two marathons. The normally proud Ferguson
tended two apologies and, as the anticipation over the FA's inevitable punishment grew, the
officials came crawling out of their secret chamber and announced that Ferguson will be charged of
'improper conduct'.

"A site with real potential that landed a Nemanja Vidic exclusive earlier this season. The
news services is often off the pace, though, so that needs sharpening up."
Well, we just sneaked in at number 10. Potential? For a blog that's been around for a while, I
thought we were through with the potential part, going on to a plateau of mediocrity.

the Henry resemblance is uncanny.

Young, French footballer, recent signing and part-time gardener at OT, Gabriel Obertan is
expected to make his debut later this month if reports on News of the World are to be

Some links to get you through the day:
1. Ferguson is in a row with Foster, apparently. No quotes to back it up, but it's quite
possible Ferguson might have been annoyed with the way Kenwyne Jones' goal was conceded. He was
angry at many things following the Sunderland game, he would have picked a fight with a priest.

Darren Fletcher after having more or less established himself at the heart of United's midfield
reveals he wants to be known more than just a destroyer.
Fletcher's defensive abilities and energy in the middle of the park has been apparent for most
United fans even in the tail end of last season, but the Scot feels there are still areas that need
improving.

I was a bit disappointed to see Fabio da Silva sent off against Wolves in midweek. The Carling
Cup has been a platform for our young players to show their mettle and prove themselves. So I was
really keen to see them line up against Wolves and put on a performance. So, being reduced to 10
men wasn't going to help them prove their worth was a shame Macheda had to be sacrificed as a
result, but I digress.

happening at Old Trafford. And despite now being at Real, I'm always happy when I know when United
have won."
He also tips Nani to do well for us this season:
"I've also seen that Nani is playing much more than he was last season when I was

Sir Alex Ferguson has made a few things clear about his plans for our central midfielders today,

When asked about Carrick and Anderson, he said, "there are no issues at all."
"Michael wasn't involved against Birmingham or Wigan because we played Burnley on the Wednesday

I am still unsure on the exact dates, but I can only hope we don't travel to Moscow in December.
It's always tough at that time of the year. Either way, with Turkey and Russian clubs in our group,
we have some serious travelling to do. Away from home Besiktas can be tricky, and CSKA Moscow
formidable.

Anderson spoke to Sportsmail putting an end to speculation that he may be heading for
the exits at Old Trafford. This late in the window, with Ferguson saying "he won't buy anyone", it
would surprise me if he were to boot someone out of the door. Anderson has gone down in estimation
with some fans due to an inconsistent second season, and there were reports of a bust up between
Ferguson and him over his non-selection in the Community Shield.
