£10million bid for 24-year-old Lorient striker Kevin
Gameiro.

agent told them that he'd prefer to play in Spain.
According to Louise Taylor at the Guardian, midfielder Matthew Ireland's
chances of permanently signing with Newcastle, where he is playing on loan from
Aston Villa, seem doubtful as he has failed to impress and will now be out for the
rest of the season due to injury.

Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi that was rejected. It is reported
that Newcastle do not have any intentions on selling the 29-year-old.

Newcastle made a bid of £1million for Sebastian
Larsson.
According to Sky Sports News, Newcastle are interested in signing
Tottenham midfielder David Bentley. This month Tottenham have
been looking to sell the 26-year-old as oppose to loaning him out.
Bentley has already attracted the interest of Fulham, West
Ham, and Aston Villa so far.
UPDATE: According to Birmingham's official website, Birmingham
have backed out of the deal to sign Tottenham striker Robbie
Keane due to his wage demands. Chairman Peter Pannu said,
"I met with Alex and Paul today to discuss some new targets - names that we will not be
mentioning at this moment in time - as we have decided that the signing of Keane would not be in
the best financial interests of the club.
UPDATE: According to Newcastle's official website, Newcastle
have completed the permanent signing of Marseille midfielder Hatem Ben
Arfa. Ben Arfa signed a deal that will keep him at the club until June 2015.
