We aren't even done with the SuperDraft this week and already some rumors are flying around
about this year's MLS All-Star game. No word yet on who the club MLS will be playing, but one has
to figure it won't be a three-peat of Manchester United.
No, the talk today is all about the location of the game.
By Jason Davis - WASHINGTON, DC (Jan 6, 2011) US Soccer Players -- A funny thing happened to Major
League Soccer on the way to international relevancy. With so much going for it - apparent unlimited
potential for growth, new stadiums providing verifiable soccer atmospheres, the high standard of
living in the US and Canada, a willingness to spend when appropriate, a dash of anonymity some
players might find attractive - MLS sat perched atop.

Throughout the day, the QPR Report Messageboard has news updates,
comments and perspectives - even links to other board comments of interest re QPR matters (on and
off the field) along with football (and ONLY football) topics in general.
U.S. Major League Soccer has eclipsed both the NBA and the National Hockey League in terms of
average attendance at games — a feat that explains why Fox and Telemundo just paid an incredible
$1 billion for the rights to broadcast the Word Cup in 2018 and 2022.
That price was more than twice what ESPN and Univision paid to broadcast the 2010 and 2014 World
Cups.

In the past few years, the long-running Football Manager series has been more revolutionary than
evolutionary. We've seen the advent of the 3D match engine, touchline shouts and Match Analysis
that would make even the blokes over at Opta sweat.

William Browning writes of the continued growth of soccer on TV here in the US.
Beginning Jan. 2, 2012, all of the games and broadcasts on Fox Soccer Channel will move to the
renamed Versus channel called NBC Sports Network. Potential viewership will double from 40 million
to 80 million for the next three years of the contract.
*ITALIAN STADIA LIKE PIZZERIAS? How times change. In Italia '90 we all marveled at Italy's football
grounds like Milan's fortress-like San Siro, Turin's caverous Stadio delle Alpi, Bari's space-age
San Nicola and Genoa's wonderfully quirky Luigi Ferraris, wishing we could have such soccer
cathedrals at home.
NTR: Houston's New (Virtual) Stadium
This has nothing to do with the Portland Timbers, but for those of you who, like myself, are
simply a fan of new stadiums you can now get a more in depth look at what Houston will have in
2012.
The stadium looks really good, if not a little too orange.
Nice logo, but not much else it turns out has either been completed or is on schedule it seems
(still, and I yes, I know we've heard this before). Associated Press writer David Nowak has
more:
MOSCOW (AP) -- FIFA remains concerned at the slow pace of Brazil's preparations for the
2014 World Cup, saying soccer officials in South America appear to have invested more energy in
winning the tournament than organizing it.
Megan and Amanda feature in this episode, as they discuss a few happenings in Major League
Soccer, including wonder goals, snapping winless streaks, and cows scoring goals in brand new
stadiums. The main subject is, of course, the Gold Cup, as they share their rage and worry about
the USMNT's recent performances and laugh at Mexico's tainted chicken predicament.
The final of the Champions League at Wembley Stadium is almost upon us. The iconic twin towers
of the old Wembley may be gone but the arch of the latest, rejuvenated and reinvigorated Wembley
Stadium is all set to become just as famous.
Saturday 28th May 2011 will the biggest day in the new stadiums life to date.
FIFA Presidential Election: Are the FA Right to Abstain? is a post from: Just Football
Next week FIFA's 208 members will vote in the latest FIFA Presidential election. Current
president Sepp Blatter has held the position since 1998. He was re-elected in 2002
and again in 2007, unopposed, despite the fact only 66 of FIFA's members supported him.
PARIS, France — The French football federation has named the nine cities that will host matches
during the 2016 European championships. Bordeaux, Lens, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nancy, Nice, Paris
and Saint-Denis were chosen on Friday ahead of Saint-Etienne and Toulouse, which have been named as
reserve locations.
Life doesn't always work the way it should. How else to explain how a show like Joey could last
three seasons before someone kicked the plug on that silliness?
In our soccer world, important decisions aren't always made through high-level board room
discussions and execution of prudent marketing plans.
Let's talk about MLS 1.0 for a minute. Via Fake Sigi, The Viper's Nest blog puts forward some
explanations as to why the Red Bulls haven't lived up to expectations, viz., anyone wanting to see
their games. Worrisome stuff.
But it's New England's woes that I find jarring.
Hey, it's early.
Believe it or not, the Philadelphia Union's season starts a week from today. With that being
said, here is a look at what various media outlets are saying to preview the 2011 Philadelphia
Union and the MLS season as well as some other news and notes concerning the Philadelphia Union,
MLS, and soccer in general.
On a beautiful sunny Saturday Afternoon in downtown Houston, a big festival was forming while
dignitaries from MLS, City of Houston, State of Texas and the members of the Dynamo were all on a
stage showing everyone what will entail for this 22,000 seat stadium that will be ready for the
2012 season.
The dream is finally becoming a reality in Houston. Shovels will go into the ground this weekend
on a brand new stadium that will become the new home of the Houston Dynamo. The Dynamo have been
working long and hard on getting this project to become a reality after leaving San Jose for the
reasons of not being able to land a stadium.
The Premiership... the final frontier. These are the voyages of the football club Huddersfield
Town. Its continuing mission: to explore strange new stadiums, to seek out new players and new
teams, to boldly go where no Terrier has gone before.
Well, it's Huddersfield in the F.A. Cup today. At the Emirates, too.
Would you too prefer to make new mates, expertise a pleasant time in addition to participate to

The Fifa World Cup 2006 Germany will grow to be the biggest celebration of the century. Official

Stadium in Berlin Germany at June 8th.
Sure, most of Americans would see that Qatar is hosting the Asian Cup 2011 and think "hey let's
see how they do with a major tournament." This would be wrong, first because they have already
hosted the tournament, and second their World Cup bid is about the spectacular, while this is just
another tourney.
