Anfield. Arsenal do have plenty of memories at this ground. As with many things in this world,
there are good memories and bad memories. Whether we were old enough to remember the 1989 game or
know about it via watching old videos or reading articles about it, that last game of the season
has to go down as one of the best moments in Arsenal's history.
Former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has been signed a three year contract to take over at
White Hart Lane. AVB struggled at Chelsea but he's still widely viewed as a talented manager who
should have a longer career (still in his 30s).
Villas-Boas had the following comments about the new job.
And so, with Redknapp's reign at the club officially at an end, I find myself feeling the same
thing I've been feeling about him for a while now... Meh...
He brought Spurs some pretty decent football in his time here. A Champions League quarter final and
league finishes of 4th, 5th and 4th is nothing to be dismissed lightly, not to mention dragging us
out of the relegation zone when he first got here.
'The Special One' Jose Mourinho's Success in Madrid - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
On 28th May 2010, it was confirmed Jose Mourinho would be taking over from Manuel Pellegrini at
Real Madrid. ‘The Special One' arrived at the Bernabau with a huge task on his hands. Since 2008,
Barcelona had become the dominant force in Spanish football; it was his job to change this.
If you don't' already follow U.S Goalkeeper Hope Solo's twitter stream, you really should.
Solo's twitter rant was in response to former WNT defender Brandi Chastain's remarks when the
U.S. women's soccer team played Colombia on Saturday. During the first half, Chastain disparaged
defender Rachel Buehler's ball control.
By Tony Edwards - San Jose, CA (Jan 19, 2012) US Soccer Players -- In Tuesday's edition, Tony looks
at the longer MLS season debate, an unexplored benefit of preseason training, Marco Etcheverry's
new job, and contrasting styles of MLS management. Can you name at least one non-MLS city which is
very excited about MLS pre-season training?

to a schedule, so here's the Thanksgiving Day edition of the 5 Questions. Tony looks at former
MVP's new job, the Castrol Ratings for Americans in Europe, and when to show up for a Crew game.
What did you miss, this past season, if you got to your seat at a Crew game.
Cheeky imp Andrei Arshavin has always 'ploughed his own furrow' as it were, with his
unpredictability both entertaining and annoying in equal measures. Now, the Arsenal playmaker will
no doubt have irked the Russian Football Union after revealing on his website, before any official
announcement had been made, that former England supremo Fabio Capello has been appointed as the new
national team boss.
Since the last post, I have found a new job and gotten twins so there has been a lot to do. In
between changing diapers and walking a baby-carriage, I have found a moment to update the dear
readers of this blog.
Lets start with the national team. Since beating the Netherlands to make it to the Euro 2012
endgame, we have been absolutely piss awful.
Former Colorado Rapids coach Gary Smith has a new job. After battling with Rapids management over
decision-making, the club announced that they wouldn't offer Smith a new contract. The 2010 MLS Cup
winner is instead the new manager at Stevenage, currently 6th in England's League One. He is
expected to name his Colorado assistant Steve Guppy as his assistant with Stevenage.

and tactics.
Newly unemployed Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has reportedly already found a new job. His
horrendous commute to London is now a thing of the past as 'Arry has secured work much close to his
home in Dorset. OTP can only assume that somebody else wrote his sign for him. Image: Rudy Neeser

City now signing United players for oddjobs Those who felt that Owen Hargreaves would never be able
to hold down a regular place in the Manchester City team can feel some what vindicated by the news
that he's to be employed as a pitchside cameraman by the club. As if to reinforce his reputation

Beg, borrow and Steele for a new job Conference South side Oxford City have sacked forward Lee

Today's the day football gets rediscovered in Singapore with the Daftly Named LionsX11 hosting
Kelantan at the Jalan Besar Stadium and all 7,500 tickets sold out.
One round of SLeague games, six games, would never have accumulated that many fans yet they come
crawling out the woodwork for this game.
Nice pants His mammoth wages and Manchester City's asking price seems to have stalled all the
options for Carlos Tevez to continue his career at another football club. But he has found
alternative employment as a pyjama model. The Argentine has been hanging around South American golf
courses showing off his leisurewear.
While Jurgen Klinsmann struggles to find wins or goals with the U.S. men's national team, the
man he replaced is ready to begin his latest coaching adventure.
Bob Bradley will coach his first game as head coach of the Egyptian National Team, which takes
on Brazil today (Noon, ESPN3.
I had been holding off on writing a post on Bob Bradley's new job as Egypt national team manager
until there were firm news of an agreement. (The usual busyness with business is another reason.)
Bradley had been linked with foreign jobs before, but those links appeared to be ephemeral. So when
Bradley received overtures from the Egyptian national team and Santos Laguna, US soccer observers
could be forgiven for feeling incredulous.

Image: expressandstar.comBrendan Rodgers faces a relatively kind start to his Premier League
season as Liverpool travel to the Midlands on Saturday to face West Bromwich Albion. The pre season
friendlies and the start to the Europa League provided some relief to those football withdrawal
symptoms but it's safe to say we're very close to being in full swing now.
After leaving the Philadelphia Union, Joe Tait traveled around Europe and attempted to find a
new job. He spent time in Scandanavia after training with his boyhood club, Middlesbrough, but
nothing came of either of those trips.
Now the former Hartlepool United defender has returned to his home country of England to attempt
to resume his playing career.
An update on recent changes at Lake Country Soccer is in order. Let's summarize...
The Lake Country Soccer Board, in conjunction with the City Parks, chose unanimously not to
renew the contract of Executive Director Kelly Ross. The position, under contract with City Parks
via the non-profit organization, runs from July 1st annually.
Following on from June we now move into July 2011 and our pre season begins. There are
constant rumours flying around about potential signings, AVB keeps talking the talk and an injury
blow hits us. Here we go!.
So the month started with AVB spouting off more about what he and his technical staff look to to
achieve.
Mick Tait has a new job scouting young players for Newcastle United. Peter Beardsley now Football
Development Manager at Newcastle And we reported earlier this morning his job is to look for any

Shearer to other [.
Before we even dip a toe into the blame game that is WPS vs Dan Barislow, I have one serious
question.
Who represents WPS?
Legally, I mean.
Indulge me for a minute, if you will.
Let's assume that I got a new job. On my first day in the new office, rather than set up my
email, read the personnel manual and display a photo of my adorable puppy, I instead chose to
smash my computer, spray paint my name on the wall, and subject my coworkers to a vicious series
of guerrilla wedgie attacks.
Queens Park Rangers are set to land Nigerian international Taye Taiwo from Italian champions AC
Milan within the coming days. The left back joined Milan from Marseille last summer but has
struggled to make it to the first team despite not suffering from any injuries.
The finer details of Taiwo 's transfer are not clear, however what is known is that the defender
will be joining QPR on a loan deal.
Etoile have never been everyone's favorite cup of tea. A bunch of French journeymen pros parachuted
into the tropics in the hope of kick starting their stagnant careers?
Since they arrived in 2010 the club have been involved in controversy after controversy, much of it
of their own making.

For those who might not be aware, I moved from Chicago to St. Louis, Missouri this past November
to start a new job. Overall, I don't have a lot of complaints. There are a few things Chicago have
that St. Louis doesn't: good pizza, a legitimate subway station, and oh yeah, an MLS franchise.
Mike Leach has a new job. The former coach at Texas Tech who lost his job in controversial
fashion, has been hired as the next coach of the Washington State Cougars. Leach will reportedly
receive a lucrative five-year contract.
Leach coached at Texas Tech from 2000 until he was fired in 2009.
