Spurs star Gareth Bale is set to sign an improved contract and stay at the club for another season on the condition that he is allowed to move at the end of next season. The new deal will see Bale pocket £130,000 and will be announced shortly, according to the Evening Standard. But the [...]
Frank Lampard's preference is to make a summer move to Manchester United when his Chelsea contract expires, according to the Daily Star. The reports follow suggestions that Chelsea had yesterdat performed a U-turn on their decision to move Lampard on and offered the England midfielder a new deal. That talk of a new deal is [.
Ravel Morrison has joined Birmingham City on a season long loan from West Ham United.
Morrison was once one of United's brightest youth team prospects but after a series of
indiscretions off the field as well as a poor attitude lead the club to not offering him a new deal
and allowing him to leave.
Manchester United's new shirt sponsorship deal with Chevrolet is worth an "incredible" $559
million under its seven-year shirt sponsorship agreement.
Chevrolet takes over from the insurer Aon starting with the 2014-15 season. Manchester United
said it will receive $70 million during the first season of the new deal.
Anders Lindegaard has signed a new four year extension at Manchester United which will see him
at the club until 2015/2016.
"I'm very pleased to have signed a new contract," he said. "I'm glad and proud that
the manager has shown the confidence he has in me by giving me a new deal.
Your whistle-stop guide to the latest Premier League arrivals Name: Yaya Sanogo Age: 20 Position: Striker Current club: Auxerre Fee: Free (with compensation) Did you know? Sanogo already has a cult following due to his propensity to turn into a virtual world-beater in the Football Manager computer game series.
Arsenal star Theo Walcott is still being linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium after failing to agree a new contract. Talks have again hit a snag over Walcott's demands for assurances that he will be a regular starter (and preferably as a striker) if he signs a new deal. The injury prone [.
It's almost not worth writing articles during the transfer window these days since you don't know
who to believe unless you actually talk to the players themselves. And even some of them don't have
clue what's going on. Looking over the headlines regarding Theo Walcott and his contract
negotiations with Arsenal you'll see there are about two dozen different scenarios offered by
various writers and newspapers.
as I write there are just over 36 hours until the transfer window shuts and as yet there has
been little movement in any direction from Arsenal. Henri Lansbury has joined Nottingham Forest but
we're no clearer about the future of any of the players I mentioned in Tuesday's blog.
Arsenal without Walcott... by KJ Since the window is drawing to a close and Arsenal have been
extremely tight-lipped on any transfer dealings, it's a good idea to start looking at the new
line-up for this season without the pacey Englishman. I'm still hopeful that Theo will agree to
sign a new deal but I [.
By all accounts Theo Walcott wants £100,000 a week.
That is exactly £99,999 a week more than I would pay him.
Seriously though, he is lucky I don't run the club, because if I did, and he demanded that amount
of money, I would hire Jonny Wilkinson to drop kick him and his agent out of the Emirates.
Arsene Wenger has leapt to the defence of Olivier Giroud and
Lukas Podolski, and has assured Arsenal fans that his misfiring
attackers will soon start scoring goals.
Arsene Wenger is praying that Theo Walcott agrees to sign a new deal that keeps him at the
Emirates, but if he doesn't then Arsenal may have to sell him before he walks away next summer on a
free transfer. Salvation may be just around the corner for the Gunners, as Arsenal are preparing a
[...]
In an ideal world, that smile means "yes, I'm staying". I'd like to believe that too, but that
decision solely belongs to Robin Van Persie. I'm sure Mr. Wenger, like me and the passionate
Arsenal fans, all share the same opinion.
I've kept quiet in the last couple of months. Not because I had my jaw broke or anything but simply
because I have been too busy to write.
I am going to try and change that. Ideally I'll try and get on here at least twice a week or at the
very least four or five times a year. Which is more than I have done recently.
The latest news regarding Theo Walcott's contract talks with the Arsenal management are looking a
little worrying, as he has made it clear that he is unlikely to sign a new deal before the end of
the current transfer window. Walcott was asked about the ongoing talks, and although he hinted that
he was sure [.
"My future is at Santos. I have a contract until 2015." Another one bites the dust then. Ganso has
been trying to negotiate a new deal with his Brazilian club, and whether they have come to an
agreement or not, the young midfield star has ruled out a transfer to Arsenal. At the minute,
Arsenal [...]
Borussia Dortmund star Jakub Blaszczykowski has snubbed rumoured interest from Liverpool, by
agreeing a new four-year deal with the Bundesliga champions.
In a statement on Dortmund's official website, it was announced that the Polish international put
pen to paper over a new long-term deal, effectively ending any such chances Liverpool had of luring
him to Anfield.
Chelsea fans have been desperately hoping Frank Lampard would be putting pen to paper soon... but not to become an author of children's books. The veteran midfielder has agreed a five-book deal with publisher Little Brown. The series, called Frankie's Magic Football, will be aimed at children aged five and above.
Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has committed his long term future to the club by agreeing a new
deal.
The 27 year-old put pen to paper on a contract extension, as talk began to swirl that he could be
on his way out of Anfield.
The Slovakian international, who joined Liverpool in 2008, had been linked with a surprise switch
to Premier League rivals Manchester City in recent months, after he refused to comment on his
future.
Before most fans had ever heard of Massimo Luongo, his first appearance in the Spurs spotlight
was to miss the vital penalty in our Carling Cup tie with Stoke last season. With apologies for
even mentioning that, it's pleasing to report that the player's reputation enhanced throughout the
remainder of the campaign.
The eccentricity of Napoli's film producer owner Aurelio De Laurentiis is well-documented;
whether it be unveiling new players via the medium of rubber lion masks or
storming out of 'rigged' Serie A fixture draws and pootling off into the sunset on the back of some
random stranger's Vespa, the man has got a fair bit of previous in the 'well and
truly barmy' stakes.

Napoli owner and producer of awful movies Aurelio De Laurentiis has a history of conducting
press conferences the odd way he goes about the rest of his existence. Last year, he unveiled
Gokhan Inler to the press by having the player wear a lion mask. And now, on the final day of the
summer transfer window, he decided to have a bit more fun with the media in a press conference
about Edinson Cavani's future.
So our less-than-scintillating but far-from-disastrous start to the season gets puts to one side
for the last straight of the madness that is the transfer window. This morning, belatedly if you
ask me, it's all about Theo Walcott who's apparently turned down an offer of £75k a week.
Now, I haven't blogged much this summer, partly because I needed a break and partly because the
incessant rumour gets my giddy goat, but I did write about Walcott back in July and it pretty much
all still stands.
The pre season checklist is gradually becoming scattered with ticks. The season review DVD, the
release of the fixture list, Sky's subsequent desecration of the fixture list, the club captain
transfer saga and now, the first pre season friendly have all been dutifully marked off of the
calendar. I too have been limbering up for the season, having taken in my first instantly
forgettable and ultimately pointless friendly of the summer at Borehamwood last weekend.
Martin Skrtel today ended speculation over his future by signing a new four year long contract
with the club. Martin had been linked to the likes of Manchester City in preseason and it's good to
see that he has now pledged his future to the club.
A statement on the Club's official site read
"Martin Skrtel today committed his future to Liverpool by signing a new long-term contract and
immediately declared his ambition to become an Anfield legend.
Sky Sports understands Liverpool is close to agreeing a new deal with defender Martin Skrtel.
Skrtel's future at Anfield has been the subject of speculation this summer with the Slovakian
claiming he was aware of interest from other club's in his services.
The 27-year-old, who joined Liverpool in January 2008, enjoyed his best season at Anfield last
term, winning the club's Player of the Year award.
Inter Milan are reportedly planning a bid for Arsenal winger Theo Walcott, who remains a transfer
target for Liverpool.
The England international has less than 12 months remaining on his current contract at the Emirates
Stadium and little progress has been made in negotiations about an extension.
ESPN understands that Liverpool will only consider an offer of £25 million for Denmark
international Daniel Agger, who has been targeted by Premier League champions Manchester City.
Liverpool sources have confirmed that City has made approaches over Agger, 27, but that the two
sides are some way apart in their valuation of the player, who has two years left on his contract.
The Uruguay forward has ended all speculation about his future by penning a new Long term
contract with the club.
Suarez has been frequently linked with a move to Juventus since the end of last season, but the
25 year old committed to a new deal with the Reds on his first day back at training .
Sky Sports understands Liverpool is considering selling Manchester City target Daniel Agger to
raise funds for other signings.
As revealed by skysports.com last week, City has seen two bids rebuffed by Liverpool for Denmark
international Agger.
City is expected to come back with a third bid with Roberto Mancini keen to bring the central
defender to the Etihad Stadium.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has dismissed suggestions of Daniel Agger's Europa League absence
being an indicator of a move to Manchester City.
The centre-back was left out of the Anfield club's squad for Thursday evening's Europa League
qualifier against FC Gomel and that sparked extra speculation.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers hopes Martin Skrtel will sign a new deal and is not aware of any
bids for the defender.
Skrtel gave an interview in Slovakia, suggesting there had been interest in the 27 year-old, but
just like the supposed interest in Luis Suarez from Juventus, Rodgers hasn't received any formal
offers for the player.

With a new void in his midfield, Arsene Wenger may turn yet again to another rising French star
to try and bolster his club.
Arsenal's interest in Stade Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila has reportedly been rekindled as the
close of the summer transfer window nears. If M'Vila were to sign with Arsenal, he would join a
group of young Frenchmen to sign with the club over the last few years that includes Samir Nasri,
Gael Clichy, Abou Diaby and most recently Olivier Giroud.
After a week of speculation, American midfielder Mikkel Diskerud has finally joined Rosenborg on a
new deal that will run through the end of the 2012 season.
Javier Mascherano signed a new deal today which will keep him at Barcelona till the end of June,
2016. The club has raised his buyout clause to 100 million Euros, which may be an indication of how
important he has become in the scheme of things at Barca.
