101 Great Goals #34 - John Goossens
It's not very often that my adopted Dutch club, NEC Nijmegen, appear above the radar. They are the
very definition of 'mid table mediocrity' - sitting in the middle of the Eredivisie every single
year, doing absolutely nothing whatsoever.
To include a goal that earned them a 1-1 home draw against ADO Den Haag also sounds like the
dullest thing in the world, but this particular piece of brilliance from ex-Ajax kid John Goossens
deserves to shine a light on the club.

Dirty Tackle 02 October @ 02:18 AM EST
In Wednesday's Eredivisie match between NEC and Utrecht, NEC's Moestafa El Kabir decided to try
and save a ball that was already out of bounds and ended up plowing into the pitchside TV
camera.
This is generally a bad idea. While TV cameras do have weak legs and rarely defend themselves
from an oncoming attack, they are still made of heavy things like metal and.

Dani Fernandez can't even imagine winning in De Kuip against Feyenoord with NEC anymore. Coming
Sunday, Feyenoord opens the competition at home against Mario Been and Fernandez' former club NEC.
The right back: "I want to win every game." The 26 year old tells a a good story. This time about

NEC's penalty specialist El-Akchaoui It appears to be so simple. The penalty kick. You, the ball,
eleven meters and that goal. Oh, and somewhere there is the keeper too. But, Diego, Marco,
Zinedine, Roberto and Johan have all missed at least on in their careers. Every team therefore, has

And the excitement builds up. NEC seemed to have lost it with Mario Been announcing his move to
Feyenoord, but they kept no. 2 Twente at 1-1, allowing Ajax later today to come closer to the
number 2 position. Ajax won their away game against troubled Roda JC 1-2, with

Horror tackle from Holland Edgar Davids#8217; cousin, Lorenzo, is currently playing for NEC
Nijmegen. Well, we say currently playing - he can expect to miss the next few games after picking
up a red card in last night#8217;s clash with Schteeve McClaren#8217;s FC Twente. Lorenzo went in
over the top with a nasty tackle that cousin Edgar [.

Defender
Jonas Olsson scored in the 53rd minute as a young and inexperienced back
four held strong against today's continuous Boro attack. West Brom's players enjoyed their first
away victory of the Premiership season. 23-year old goalkeeper
Scott Carson
performed admirably throughout the match.

NEC coach Mario Been Well, I'd almost say: the interesting European Cup for us Dutchies is starting
soon... As if I accept the fact that we don't have any business in the CL. And with PSV's
performance against Atletico, this might well be true. Does Holland have anything to achieve in

Astrit Ajdarevic is likely to leave Anfield this summer, and as he begins a trial at NEC Nijmegen
the Netherlands seem to be his most likely destination.
The Kosovo-born Swedish youth international arrived at Anfield in 2007 from Falkenbergs, but has
yet to make a first team appearance for the Reds.

So far this season, PSV Eindhoven has maintained their spot near the top of the Eredivisie table,
but by the end of the year I don't expect them to finish higher than fourth and here's three
reasons why:
3. They've had a favorable schedule so far
PSV has played Vitesse Arnhem and NEC at home, Twente and Heracles on the road. Twente and Vitesse
Arnhem are seemingly decent sides, but PSV could only manage a scoreless draw with the former at
Arke Stadion and barely squeaked by Vitesse at home, 1-0.
