Mano Menezes appears to be under a lot of pressure these days surely it isn't
because he's only the national coach of Brazil, a country with 194 million other
talking heads? Earlier this week, Menezes met up with the U-17 'selecao feminina' (you can call
them Brasil's futbolitas!
So, Fabio Capello quits as the England national coach. This is, perhaps, unsurprising
considering the dog's abuse that he has taken while leading the national team through an almost
flawless qualification campaign, before finding that the decision over who would take the England
captain's arm-band was taken away from him without consultation.
Fort Lewis College head men's soccer coach Oige Kennedy was named the 2011 NSCAA/MONDO National
Coach of the Year for NCAA Division II, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America
announced last week at its annual convention and awards banquet.
"Recognition by your peers is always special," said FLC Director of Athletics Gary Hunter.
Headlines with question marks are always funny, but in this case due to the nature of automated
translation and the global nature of football there is little certainty. Indications are that
forward Prince Tagoe is no longer with his club. We're talking about a Ghana national team player
played in Germany and Serbia during the last season, was heavily connected to the Seattle Sounders
at the summer window in 2011, eventually moved to Bursaspor in Turkey.
Why England must NEVER turn to a foreign boss again
I remember December 17, 2007, as though it was yesterday. And to adapt and sanitise an old Frank
Carson gag ... you know what a terrible day yesterday was. On the left flank of a top table in a
London hotel suite sat Trevor Brooking, with the sort of demeanour a father might have at his
daughter's wedding to the local scoundrel.
RIP GARY SPEED
Wow, we're still pretty traumatized as we write this. The football world has lost a
great man, an all-round personality and footballer in Wales national coach, Gary
Speed after he took his own life yesterday. Growing up, we used
to watch him play for Wales with our proud grandpa (Speed has appeared a total of 85 times for
country, which makes him the highest capped outfield player) and his suicide is surely a heavy
burden for Speed's loved ones and fans everywhere to bear.
Dave Masur has transformed St. John's University soccer into a national powerhouse over the past 20
years, and his Red Storm advanced into the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2011.
Frank Isola of the New York Daily News writes of how Masur has built SJU into an annual title
contender.
University of New Mexico Jeremy Fishbein has led his Lobos to an undefeated regular season, and it
was accomplished by placing high demands on his team.
Fishbein and his team have a single-minded focus to take it one game at a time and never overlook
its next opponent.
"That's how you have to look at it," he said.
Firdaus Idros being called up to LionsIn a media release announced just hours ago by the Football
Association of Singapore (FAS), national coach Raddy Avaramovic added two more uncapped players
into the 21-men squad that are due to face Jordan (away) and China (home) next month in their
upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Why we need to bring in a Ramsey Rule before English coaches become extinct
In the week that the Wally With The Brolly walked again, it's only right we focus on the
imminent exit of his England successor. And ask what we'll do when the Wally With The Lolly, Fabio
Capello, returns home with enough dosh to restore Italy's AAA credit rating.

The eyebrow that sees an Arsenal future?
Carlo Ancelotti has been taking time off from the sport. But he makes no bones about a return to
coaching in England, now his preferred destination. Arsenal is amongst the clubs he has set his
sights on. The other two are Liverpool and Spurs.
Theyab Awana one of the UAE's brightest stars died on Sunday, tragically killed in a car
accident. He was just 21. Awana was returning from a training camp held at Al Ain ahead of the
team's qualifier with South Korea on October 11 when his car struck a road repair lorry. Awana
passed away in the hospital.
In a media release by the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) this afternoon, national coach
Raddy Avramovic had named the squad of 18 players to represent the Singapore Selection in their
annual fixture against the Selangor Selection in the Sultan of Selangor Cup this coming Saturday at
Shah Alam.
If Capello struggles with English, how comes he was so good at sticking the verbal boot
into Carroll?
A mate had a baby in 2007 who's grown into a bit of a football fan. When I saw him on Monday I
couldn't shut him up about England's win in Bulgaria and his regret that Wayne Rooney wasn't still
an Evertonian.
The man they called the "White Pele" never failed to reiterate his opinion on having game to be
played on artificial surface after made known to the media a day earlier.
"To me personally, I think good football should be played on natural grass and artificial surface
shall be used by small children in training instead.
The Colombian national coach, Hernán Darío Gómez, has come into controversy in his country after
he was caught beating up a lady in a nightclub in Bogotá last week. He has offered to step down
after the scandal, but incredibly as it may sound, many people want him to stay on as coach. Before

Heman Gurung amends his spot kickMost people had undoubtedly believed that Nepal U16 can go
and win the title single handedly owing to the home advantage cum the long preparation for this
championship. But the shocking defeat by the Indian means that our young team had to play at 1300
hrs rather than 1530.

Poor RefereeingThe U16 national captain Heman Gurung
took the responsibility on the losing as his effort was comfortably saved by the Indian Keeper.
Nepalese team were continuously under pressure as they were rewarded in the dying moment of the
match. The dreams of playing in the final were then shattered in the penalties.
Already old news that Jurgen Klinsmann has become national coach of the USA after the ending of the
Bob Bradley era. As a player, Mr. Klinsmann was unconventional, a brilliant striker, completely his
own, but still a team player, and indeed, a great guy. These are qualities he took with him as
national team coach, where he completely revived German football with the great performance of the

Mark Zeigler writes of the change agent that is Jurgen Klinsmann.
There are a few things you need to understand about Juergen Klinsmann and U.S. Soccer, which
officially hired him Friday to replace Bob Bradley as men's national coach.
First, the American soccer establishment is a largely an old boys network who sit on each other's
boards and in each other's luxury boxes.
Klinsmann in, Bradley out as US National Coach - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
In a coup d'état so swift it could represent the final guillotine strike in a pepole's
revolution, Bob Bradley has been replaced as manager of the United States Mens' Soccer team by
Jürgen Klinsmann.
People's choice? Juergen Klinsmann now holds the future of the USMNT in his hands (AFP

Well, it took a few years longer than first envisioned, but it looks like U.S. Soccer - or
should I say U.S. socer fans - finally got their man. And this time around he was hired with a
minimum of fuss:
CHICAGO (AP) -- U.
Argentina has one of the most talented group of players in the world, and yet they have done
nothing on the national team, and the recent debacle now had its consequences by Sergio Batista
being fired as national coach. This is about time; he has been a lousy coach, and Argentina has
slid down the world ranking while him coaching them.

"Tiket bola mana?" asked the driver of the Johor licensed plate vehicle in Malay, as he would like

It took three days for the Indonesian Football Association's new leaders to stamp their
authority on the game: they fired national coach Alfred Riedl out of the blue on Wednesday.
The decision by Djohar Arifin Husin, who was last weekend voted chairman of the association known
as the PSSI, came as a shock, especially as the national team is just today due to begin a training
camp for a two-legged World Cup qualifying tie.
Mano Menezes has lots to think about including his future as national coach
Argentina found themselves as a team facing Costa Rica after desultory draws against Bolivia and
Colombia. A must win situation against a team with a huge incentive to force a draw.
Brazil also followed suit with draws against Venezuela and Paraguay.

Brazil coach Mano Menezes has arrived in Argentina ahead of the Copa America looking to give the
Seleçao a new identity, and the fans a reason to cheer, after the bitter disappointment of
last year's World Cup.
Having taken over from Dunga in August, Menezes is heading into his first tournament as national
coach with little doubt the next three and a half weeks will be taken seriously.
By Gareth McKnight, writing from Australia
The 2011 Copa America in Argentina kicks off in early July, with the hosts the favourites
amongst most bookmakers. Despite this, eight time tournament winners and current holders Brazil, as
always, have a star studded squad capable of beating anyone on their day.

Fast moving stuff with Massimo Morratti doing a series of flip flops first denying contact with

Undoubtedly, the most successful coach in Tampines Rovers Football Club since the inception of the
S.League in 1996 - Vorawan Chitavanich had stepped down as the club's Technical Director and
decided to head home to Thailand.
The timing of his departure could not have come to a rather bumpy timing when the Stags are facing
sticky patches of late after ACL injuries to star players such as 'keeper Hassan Sunny and defender
Park Yo Seb that effectively rule them out of the rest of the campaign.
Thai FA head Worawi Mukadi has hinted that former national team coach Peter Withe could be
considered to replace Bryan Robson who stepped down earlier this week for health reasons. Withe is
currently without a job and was very successful during his last spell with the club.
Mind you Mukadi, in an unusually perceptive moment said that Thai fans wanted a Thai coach.
