Can Victoria Beckham makes spats happen? Or will they go the way of "fetch?"

Victoria is in New York, where she spoke at the Women's Wear Daily Apparel & Retail CEO Summit last night. She's the first woman to wear a look from her Spring 2012 collection and in doing so wore the item that most perplexed us: spats.

Author Douglas Adams wrote about how things got started by saying: "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."

I suppose it follows logically from such a start that our Galaxy would stumble their way into a new season.
