Referee Abdul Malik made a brave decision to carry on the match despite the heavy downpour (as
pictured above) that started prior to the start of this live televised game.
Frankly, this fixture would have been a title decider perfectly fit for this season's finale, but
it wasn't the case after all.

Japanese playmaker Keisuke Honda has been the talk of the town (or should I say
country) in Holland as he attracted a lot of attention with his impressive
performances for small Dutch club VVV Venlo. His goals, assists and superior technical
skills haven't gone unnoticed with clubs like Liverpool, Chelsea and Everton

The Espanyol Barca derby may prove to much more interesting with former Celtic playmaker
Shunsuke Nakamura joining Espanyol. He was unveiled today in front of 6000 fans. He said he would
have to be mentally and physically faster to compete in the more demanding Spanish league.
We can expect a duel between Nakamura and Iniesta although the Japanese at 31 years of age is
off his peak while Iniesta continues to grow into one of the world's best attacking
midfielders.

Everyone is excited about Espanyol signing Shunsuke Nakamura. The fans who nearly rioted when he
arrived at the airport are calling him their Galactico and the media are comparing him to Cristiano
Ronaldo. Normally, professional footballers love this kind of ego-wanking adulation, but Nakamura,
former Scottish Player of the Year with Celtic, would like everyone to calm the hell down.

I love the Old Firm Derby. Without really caring who wins you know how it is I usually pull for
Celtic, for four reasons:
1. Nakamura blows my mind.
2. They're always exciting in the Champions League (see Man Utd and #1; also, remember the Dida
Tumble?)
3. The hoops. In the words of my favorite blogging cartoon cat, they're stone-cold
unquestionable.

Rarely a game in the Scottish Premier League would've been so one sided as the game between Celtic
and St Mirren was today. The homeplaying team won with a smashing 7-0. Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink
didn't start the match, but he missed a penalty after already 30 minutes and failed to score any
other goal.

Surprisingly, the Japanese are not yet assured of a place in the next round but with this live
online and radio commentary World Cup 2010 qualifier between Thailand and Japan live it should be
assured by the end of the game, as long as they do not play as poorly as they did last week away.
They might be treated to the same kind of ploy in this live online streaming match against Thailand
and that is to try to exploit their surprising lack of pace in the side.
