Benfica win and Nacional draw in Europa League

Benfica and Nacional were in action today along with Sporting in the Europa League. Benfica scored two goals in the second half to defeat Everton on the road 2-0 on goals by Javier Saviola and Oscar Cardozo. Pensar en que a alguien le apoden "La Fiera" casi llegamos a concluír que debe ser un sujeto al borde de lo irracional, pero en el caso de Diego Aguirre fué un goleador incisivo pero que su vida personal muestra educación y cultura, abandonó los estudios de Odontología y ha dado clases de piano, ya que se recibió como profesor de piano y solfeo, como decía Beethoven:

"Quién toca piano puede escribir cualquier cosa".

Benfica crush Nacional on the way to the top

Benfica continue their roll in the Portuguese Superliga with another crushing defeat of a portuguese side. This time the team to feel the wrath of the Eagles was Nacional da Madeira who went down to an embaressing defeat 6-1. Oscar Cardozo had the hat trick scoring goals in the 17th, 48th and 89th minute the latter two on the PK, while Saviola chipped in a brace in the 40th and 61st minute. Click to continue reading...

Sporting opened the Superliga season with a draw against Nacional in Madeira. Sporting trailed the game 1-0 when Aurelio put Nacional ahead in the 28th minute but then Aurelio scored again but this time in his own goal to give Sporting the draw in this season opening matchup. Han concluido las semifinales de la Copa Libertadores y los finalistas serán Cruzeiro de Brasil, y Estudiantes de La Plata, Argentina.

En la primera semifinal, Estudiantes venció a Nacional de Montevideo, un equipo que muchos no esperaban que llegara hasta esta fase, pero ahora no tuvieron la suficiente suerte para vencer a unos Estudiantes inspirados, que si bien no rindieron lo esperado en el Clausura Argentino, en la Libertadores si han dado mucho de qué hablar.

Ya mucho rollo se ha dicho de donde van a jugar Chivas y San Luis la siguiente ronda de la Santander Libertadores. Me parece algo ya que empieza a llegar al límite del fastidio. Primero sobraron los ofrecimientos para que los equipos fueran a jugar en cancha neutral, luego algunos se negaron, luego se dijo que Estados Unidos, y ahora sabemos que ya se reactivará la actividad normal en México.
