The guilty party for this heinous crime for throwing a cash register receipt and the referee's
subsequent ode to physics is not yet known. What is known is that both Nacional and Universidad de
Chile, the two teams playing as the crime was committed, then not playing (game suspended) after
said crime, will have scouts from any team with ties to Major League Baseball Liverpool and Roma
off the top of the head (sorry) in the stands, but with their backs curiously turned to the field
of play.
Liverpool are looking into developing a long term partnership with top Uruguay side Nacional,
which will offer them first refusal on their Uruguayan teams players.
The Red star Luis Suarez originally played for the Nacional team before joining Ajax and
Liverpool have also just completed the signing of young star Sebastian Coates.
Portuguese clubs did not fair well this week in European competitions with none of the five clubs
in action coming away with a victory. Benfica opened the week of drawing 2-2 with Dutch club Twente
and will be looking to advance to the Champions League group stage at home this coming week. In
Europe League action, Sporting, Braga and Nacional all played to scoreless draws against
Veteran Uruguayan midfielder Alvaro Recoba (35) scores from the half way line
at the week-end for Nacional.

Opinions of Luis Alberto Suarez in England seem to be divided. For all Liverpool fans and many
neutrals, he is a genius. "Kenny Dalglish reborn." The Kop barely gave Fernando Torres a
second thought when he joined. Suarez has injected life and a buzz into Anfield with his quick
turns, his magical feet and his unpredictable persona.
Portuguese clubs have been handed their next round of games in Europe by the draw in Nyon today.

Alberto the other. Guimaraes on the other hand played to a scoreless draw on the road with

As has been previously described on the PSP, the friendly has historically been an important
opportunity for the transmission of new football tactics. It's also a great way for clubs and
federations to make some money and for hitherto unknown players to be seen by top clubs. From the
fan's perspective, the friendly is often a rare opportunity to see top flight international soccer
and also serves as an important community builder, whether those communities are ethnic groups that
identify with particular international clubs or the soccer community as a whole.
FC Porto have added another keeper to the fold, picking up 30 year old Nacional keeper Rafael
Bracali on a free transfer. The Brazilian has been with Nacional since the 2006 season appearing in
104 games. Bracali joins a crowded Porto net with current starter Helton, Beto and Pawel Kieszek
all battling for time between the pipes for the Dragons
Three domestic championships were decided in South America this weekend. Vélez Sársfield

Lanús lost 1-0 at home to Argentinos Juniors, Nicolas Blandi scoring the only goal of the
game.
In Uruguay's Torneo Clausura on Sunday old rivals Nacional and Peñarol faced each
other with both teams level on points at the top of the standings. A win at this late stage of the
season would see one of these traditional powers grab the advantage with only three matches left to
play. Nacional (played 12, points 28) sneaked ahead of their rivals in the Estadio Centanario on
the hour mark after Santiago García ghosted into the penalty area to ram the ball home from just
outside the six yard box.
