Group G Preview (Oct. 20)

Joga Bonito Mundo 20 October @ 11:23 AM EST

Rangers vs Unirea Urziceni

The two bottom feeders of group G are set to face off on Tuesday although I think it is unlikely either of them will go through to the next round. So, in essence, it is a fight for the Europa Cup spot.

Rangers have been in absolutely horrendous form of late and need a win to boost their confidence.

Soccer On Dish 02 October @ 07:01 AM EST

Nacho Nogo

The Scottish Football Blog 04 November @ 04:19 PM EST
Ooh, aah, Nacho's Da? Should we welcome Nacho Novo into the Scotland team with open arms? He's lived here for years. His family is Scottish. He would give George Burley an option that he's sorely lacking at the moment. But. But. I'm not convinced. National teams should have an emotional attachment. Click to continue reading...

Edu And Adu Make Club Debuts, Subotic and Dortmund Avoid Disaster

Letters From Vagabondia 13 September @ 03:18 PM EST
Fresh home from international duty this week, Maurice Edu was not expected to play for Rangers this week against Kilmarnock. A late failed fitness test by Kevin Thopmson pressed Edu into duty as a starter in his debut for his new club before 50,000 home fans. Fellow American DaMarcus Beasley, also fresh back from Chicago, was also on the field as the Ibrox club found themselves down 1-0 in the early going. Click to continue reading...

Anfield Talk 03 August @ 12:21 AM EST
Rangers manager Walter Smith wanted a stern test ahead of Tuesday's make-or-break Champions League qualifier against FBK Kaunas - and Liverpool were happy to oblige by handing out a 4-0 thrashing in Saturday's friendly at Ibrox.
David Ngog opened his goalscoring account for the Reds after Fernando Torres claimed the only goal of the first half. Click to continue reading...

See, being eliminated from the UEFA Champions League isn't the end of the world. Rangers and Sporting both finished third in their respective Champions League groups, not good enough to advance to the knockout round, but enough to earn a place in the UEFA Cup round of 32. Both teams have taken [. Click to continue reading...
